i stumbled upon this game while looking for mario&luigi-likes and i was not disappointed. once z-skills are introduced and i figured out how the equipment and abilities system worked, i was hooked. i rushed a bit to finish this before the end of 2025 so knowing there's a ng+ and a ton of endings and other content i didn't see makes me look forward to playing it again one day!2 found this helpful
Reindeer Story is a holiday-themed role-playing adventure developed and published by Azzie and Smoggysoft, delivering a retro-inspired experience filled with charm, exploration, and classic RPG influences. Built with pixel-art visuals and a design philosophy that embraces older role-playing traditions, the game combines seasonal storytelling with adventure mechanics that feel familiar while introducing enough personality to stand apart. It presents a cheerful world hiding larger stakes beneath its festive atmosphere, creating an adventure that balances lighthearted moments with meaningful progression. The story centers around Lux, a young red-nosed reindeer who finds himself connected to a crisis threatening the holiday season itself. Trouble begins when Jack Frost infiltrates Santa’s Workshop and steals six Grand Presents, powerful objects tied directly to maintaining balance across the world. The consequences quickly grow larger than a simple theft, creating the possibility of endless winter and widespread disruption. Lux, carrying both determination and guilt tied to earlier mistakes, becomes part of a larger mission to restore order before the damage becomes irreversible. The…1 found this helpful
I still love this game no matter what time of the year it is. It has the old SNES Square Enix aesthetic, but the battle style is much more engaging, rivaling any I've seen in JRPG-style games. The story (as much as I've seen) is fun; you play as Lux the Red Nosed Reindeer, who is an edgy re-imagining of Rudolph. (As the game does have crass elements, young children should not play it.) Of course there are some things to watch out for. There are mini-games and the like that can't be skipped, and any that clash with your preferences could hang you up for a while. Also, the magic system is brain-boggling: it's practically a puzzle on its own. Overall, I suggest getting it even if it isn't on special.1 found this helpful
A gameplay system that is a mix between mario rpg and undertale, and a story that is wonderfully christmas themed, combines into a awesome rpg. A must play during the holiday seasons!1 found this helpful
This game is so funny right from the get go. When I streamed it, 60% of my stream was laughing at the humor. The puns are very clever, the play style is intuitive, the tutorial sections were pretty clear cut. It's easy to follow. I love all the little references sprinkled in the game, both Real life and videogames. I love this game so much that I am gifting it to several friends. IT JUST THAT GOOD 10/10 for me i look forward to seeing what else this game holds1 found this helpful
This was a very fun and unique little RPG! It feels most similar to something like Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door with its cheeky writing style and format, having you gather many of the same important object (in this case, "Grand Presents") to save the world. The battle system is also cool, borrowing some ideas from other RPGs while introducing a couple of neat mechanics of its own. If you can get past a few janky sections and one unfortunately named main character, I highly recommend this game!1 found this helpful
