What a game! My dreamgirl found it for me here on Steam and bought it. and I am lucky she did. This simulation game is so much fun! First playthrough was in "easy mode" and it is easy enough to learn how the game works, but also hard enough to not feel grindy. The player will be nicely guided into the different things one has to take care of, the different "classes" of citizens and also the other parties involved. The story is well written and nicely narrated. Two things are a little annoying though (not gaem breaking): "grouping" of buildings (accidently deleted many buildings that should have been saved!) and the marking of road tiles when upgrading it. The later mentioned system is weird - the angle of road tiles marked is not the same as the angle of the road (why?). Otherwise a wonderfully made game, stable, nice story, good loot and: (HARR HARR!) pirates! strong recommendation for this one.2 found this helpful
Basically a cheap version of Anno focused around pirates ofc. Could be a good game but I think needs a lot of work on the production chains, UI, artwork, etc. before id be interested in playing for a longer period of time. Would also like to see a better storyline and more diversity in ships that you can build as well as more characters. As of now, I would just go play Anno 1800 if you want a game of this genre.
I would rather recommend this game. But would also likely never play it anymore :D It is really much more about kind of Anno type of game than of Pirates. And it is pretty demanding (for maybe not so experienced player). So it is very possible at certain moment you'll find yourself in need to solve the problem that costs you lots of money and meanwhile likely would loose the game. BUT it is still about pirates, reminding me of Tropico 2 Pirate Cove. And it's somewhat fun in this aspect, although it is kind of more simple in this aspect of game :) So I'd hope to get a different game of this kind in future. I'm just really not a fun of Anno kind type of games.
It's a cool little game, complicated where it should be and simplified where it should be. I foulnd it realitively easy to be on excellent terms with the three European powers and then ignoring their many requests to attack the ships of the others. I concentrated on sinking the ships of the other pirate powers instead. Every time I clicked on one of my ships the silly sailors sang a few bars from one of about half a dozen sea shanties. It truly is an absurd genre of music. 75/100
good game but i dont like how evrithing collaps when 1 resorce finish
