A Quick Note from the Developers:
We're super excited to share one of the first games to use Gen AI not as part of generating any of our assets (awesome artists hand placed every block of cheese and every human skull inside MageMart), but in powering our game engine to allow players to do almost anything they can imagine! If you're looking to get creative and goofy with some friends in pushing the boundaries of what you can do and what you can get the game to allow, Retail Mage should be right up your alley. We're really excited to make a game where you and your friends can try just about anything, and have had a lot of fun watching players turn MageMart into an Iron Chef Cookoff, a would-be dating sim, and more!That said, if you're thinking of buying RETAIL MAGE, do keep in mind that we are a very passionate but small team, and that this is not a blockbuster experience with hours and hours of content. But we're very excited to offer you a one of a kind game that lets you create your own objectives and goals, with some hidden bits of lore and mystery to discover as well!Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have feedback, questions, or problems with the game. Rip a page out of a book you find. Search a haystack for a needle. Draw a picture of a giraffe on the back of a priceless painting. At MageMart, if you can imagine it, you can try to do it*! This was the first time I enjoyed reading customer reviews at the end of a game day! I'm impressed. It's a solid system that could for sure make a fun game. It's almost there. They forgot to make it into a game though. - There are no rewards to pursue or penalties to avoid. - There is nothing to build, level up, or buy - so a 1 star review is effectively the same as 5 star review. - It feels like a demo. I love the focus on multiplayer! + Specializing in a trade gives you unique creative abilities which is fantastic for needing each other. - I wish it was easier to keep track of what my ally was doing while I'm doing my thing. If I didn't keep demanding to know who they were helping and what they needed every 30 seconds in voice chat to avoid overlapping efforts again it would have felt like single player.2 found this helpful

there isn't enough of a game, this was genuinely a huge disappointment for me. I bought the game for me and my girlfriend and yeah, we enjoyed the concept, and it seemed like it had the makings of a great retail sim... but there wasnt much of anything there, you play 1 night and then, shop closes congrats thats the end heres how ya did. I woulda liked more. what it did well, I think the idea of using AI to be able to warp and change objects however you like in order to try and meet customer demands was awesome, although it did feel a little like "say the right buzzword on the right object" it was a really cool concept for a retail sim like this. I just wish you made your store, got to customize things, upgrades, progression, unlocks, more than 1 day on the same run. cool concept the execution just feels incredibly lazy and incomplete. added note: I took the survey on their main menu The second page of survey questions dont even feel related to the game or your "playstyle" (as they put it) in any fathomable way, which comes across as lazy and incredibly disingenuous to sum it all up, this had potential to be the greatest of a genre, but it just ended up a shell of what it could h…
Its fun for short bits but needs more content. Like a campaign and currency to work with. Feels like a day is rushed making it difficult to learn the area without ignoring people. I do lie the dialogue and open ended magic. Imbue a fire extinguisher with some kind of buffing magic and your set.
The recommended specs are totally wrong. my GPU and CPU are way over the recommended and it's throttling my GPU (6600xt) with max settings, and still using 70% on minimum. Wanted to see if it was just an issue on my end, so my boyfriend installed it - same issue. Devs asked for my game log 11 days ago to look into the issue but haven't responded since.
This one is recommended for sure! It's a nifty little game that you can play with up to players (you + 3 of your friends) Fulfill customer requests, explore the store and get creative! Be mindful it can be a little confusing at first but it's one of those, "the confusion adds to the charm" if that's your sort of thing.
