(Before buying this game, please read this guide. Understand that this is still in Early Access and as such, the game is not completed yet.) Retrowave World is series of multiple maps where you can either walk around or drive around these places. The main map, the map you start from when you load the game, is the main world. You can buy cars, buy property to gain money each day, play arcade games, go to the strip club (If you have the DLC), save and rescue people in the water, be a pizza delivery, taxi people to various places, and even help the VHS store find various VHS tapes, as well as the XXX store find various sex toys, so you can buy their businesses to make money. There are 3 places/locations you can buy cars from. The main world you enter has the most expensive cars and also the main world offers places to upgrade your car so you can go faster. When you go to the boat, (Look on the map and you will know what I am talking about.) it will take you to a place with a long stretch of road that leads to another car dealership. When you cross the bridge, that will take you to another place made of bright colors and it has a place that also sells cars. Each new map also i…

Wasted money on this in hopes it would be finished. It is now abandonware which is sad because it has quite a bit of potential. Don't waste money on it.

I am ONLY going to recommend this game due to the aesthetic and what it attempted to do. There are not many Retrowave games out there so A for effort. It's a little irritating that the creator didn't bother finishing it. Like many others said, this had so much potential but maybe it was simply created so people can collect the achievements.. I am a huge Vaporwave fan and also a fan of all of it's subgenres so my review is BIASED.

I get it's early access. But the developers haven't updated anything for over 21 months at the time of this review. If the devs were showing they are working on things, then I would recommend it. This game has a lot of promise. It's an open world, retro style game. If you enjoyed the old school racing games from Pole Position to Cruisin World, this would be the perfect open world game for you. But it's clearly abandoned. There's no direction for the game. No markers to tell you where to go. I drove around the city for a while before I found a race. It was a time trial. You sit in a square to activate the race but it doesn't tell you which direction to face for the start of the race. So my first try, I had to turn around. Okay, not such a big deal. But then I missed a checkpoint and found the reset button that brought my car back on the track. Awesome! ...except it spawned me facing the other direction the race is going ahead of the next check point that I missed. So you have to drive back to the checkpoint, turn around, and THEN continue the race. You can exit the car and walk around. But the animations are just like Driver 2. There are fighting controls for some reason. I found…

You tried. That's all that matters to me. I know. It's been over a decade. But, we'll get Vice City again soon! Maybe not for 60 bucks!... ...nor, 70 or 80.... ...but we'll get GTA VI really soon. ...I hope. 3/5.

A very good game that unfortunately was abandoned by the devs. Lots of bugs, game crashes whenever it wants, especially when you enter or exit buildings. Lots of wasted potential because the vibe in this game is really great. Making it an MMO instead of giving it a good storyline was a massive mistake. If you are a fan of the 80's like me it's worth spending couple of hours just chilling and vibing otherwise don't waste your time. Giving it a positive review only because of the 80's vibes.
