Y'all reviews make me laugh... Gee... I wonder if a $10 game will be shorter than a $60 game... C'mon y'all .... yes, it's a short game. If this makes you upset, go spend $60. Oh no, its "abandoned" go play your Xbox then, geez. No it shouldn't be free.... still good content here. I own lot's of racers games for under $10, this is on par. The game doesn't misrepresent itself here, does everything it claims. The only thing the game is guilty of, is over-saturating this 80's style racing stuff.

I would really like to be able to recommend this game, but it has so many bad things that I can't. It has everything I like: retro aesthetics, 80s music, it's pleasant, it feels good, but it has a lot of bad things. Too many. Retrowave World is a game that was announced in 2024, and I bought it on release day because, when I saw that it had a multiplayer option and that there were going to be several people playing, a friend and I said, "Let's go," and bought it and played it. When we bought it, there were very few people playing, almost none, at least on our Latin American server. It only reached a peak of 67 players in total since its release. I never encountered another player while I was getting all the achievements. There was a point when I stopped playing because there was an issue with the save after they updated it and added it to Steam Cloud, but I had to redo absolutely everything from the beginning when I was already halfway through getting all the achievements. And while I was doing the main things in the game again, I realized that there are a lot of bugs. There are textures that fail, movements that are poorly made, the collisions are a mess, the cars, regardless …

I get it's early access. But the developers haven't updated anything for over 21 months at the time of this review. If the devs were showing they are working on things, then I would recommend it. This game has a lot of promise. It's an open world, retro style game. If you enjoyed the old school racing games from Pole Position to Cruisin World, this would be the perfect open world game for you. But it's clearly abandoned. There's no direction for the game. No markers to tell you where to go. I drove around the city for a while before I found a race. It was a time trial. You sit in a square to activate the race but it doesn't tell you which direction to face for the start of the race. So my first try, I had to turn around. Okay, not such a big deal. But then I missed a checkpoint and found the reset button that brought my car back on the track. Awesome! ...except it spawned me facing the other direction the race is going ahead of the next check point that I missed. So you have to drive back to the checkpoint, turn around, and THEN continue the race. You can exit the car and walk around. But the animations are just like Driver 2.
