Return to Kurgansk is a stylish VR horror game focused on survival in a post-Soviet, post-apocalypse setting.
A long time ago, the search for an endless source of energy led to a disaster, now the lands around Kurgansk are infected and cursed and the locals have lost their minds.
You have fallen into these mad places by mistake and are trying to find your way back, while hundreds of evil monsters stop you from doing it.
A stranger helps you by giving out instructions on the walkie-talkie, but can you trust them?
Explore a vast territory where mysterious monsters roam the deserted streets of villages, and dangerous anomalies manifest in abandoned cemeteries. Uncover the secrets of an abandoned military base and fight monsters in underground bunkers.
Surround sound and compelling visuals will help you adopt the role of the hero and feel when they are hungry, injured or starting to go crazy. All interaction with objects and battles with enemies are adapted for VR devices so that you dive deep into the cursed world of Kurgansk.
In order not to perish, gather supplies and hunt. Spend resources wisely, and you will be able to create various tools, weapons and equipment. Remember: there is no problem that cannot be solved with blue duct tape!

The world of Kurgansk is full of mysterious dangers. Anomalies kill with fire or electricity, they are invisible, fly and can lie in wait anywhere. But they are also a source of valuable artifacts that will allow you to survive in this difficult time.
While it’s possible to fight monsters with your bare hands, or throw rusty cans at them, you can also cut everyone with an electric-saw mace, powered with good old Soviet era batteries. There is an option to act as a ninja, killing local monsters with W-shaped transformer plates.

After 'Shadows of Kurgansk' we can now experience a similar experience via 'Return To Kurgansk', which by the way can be done completely in Virtual Reality! Watch my first gameplay here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kqhwn43lcs A VR survival action game where you have to fight against various monsters/undead, but also against humans, some other survivors. The surroundings handsome low-poly graphics with the occasional comic book style, you will engage in conversations with others as you explore who provide objectives that you need to complete, after you have done this you can continue in the game, but at the start of the game you will also learn how everything works. You will also learn that you have to craft to take care of certain items that you will then need especially to defend yourself, to craft you then need other items that you can find all around you in the area.22 found this helpful

Disclaimer: I've received this game for free via Curator Connect. Return to Kurgansk is a VR port of flatscreen game Shadows of Kurgansk. It's boring right from the start: horrible melee combat, unsatisfying gun handling and very bland mobile-like visuals of repetitive grey environments do not make it appealing at all. It's especially discouraging to play Kurgansk when there are so much better options for VR survival action like Into the Radius that cost only slightly more. Melee is exactly as bad as you would expect from a port: weightless paper weapons, huge hitboxes, no parry or dodge mechanics. Pistol recoil is imitated by jerking whole weapon 10 cm to the left after very shot. Visuals do not look like they were inspired by comic book style, they are just ugly with muddy low-res textures and no shadows. P.S. The game works fine on Reverb G2.4 found this helpful
Okay game & has potential but needs work. I liked the looting but the dev needs to work on some bugs. This has a great start could be something truly awesome but for now not so. The weapons don't feel all that great most ppl in vr want to do everything they can to make weapon work. not just put mag next to mag slot. Shooting feels okay the comic book words are charming when hitting objects. >DEV's< I don't hate the game but will need to wait to see how it is in 6 months p.s. Please add more game settings and smooth turn is way way to slow vignette is also perma active for some reason when smooth turn is on. The game looks pretty great on my 1070sc @80Hz The Devs did a fantastic job with base settings, I have no fuzzy images like i get with ITR"s AA This is a PC title not your Quest Version bring on the setting boss! :) p.p.s. wish the best of luck to Yadon Studio's EDIT: After playing for a bit longer I've decided to switch from Negative to Positive. I'm enjoying the game play loop the looting is pretty fun I do wish it was a truly open world..Unfortunately its cut off like Into The Radius. you can compare this to that ITR is based on realism.4 found this helpful
