If you’re a fan of the coin-op video arcades and science fiction adventures of the early to mid 1980’s, you’ll love this game and find it both fresh and familiar. Inspirations include Galaga, Xevious, TRON, and The Last Starfighter.

Pure arcade shoot’em-up that instantly satisfy with flashy gameplay. Although the campaign has a story, it is not very noteworthy or unique. It takes you through 17 stages where you will have to blast enemies, collect dazzling icons, and destroy bosses. In addition to maneuvering the ship, you may execute four different attacks. There is a rapid basic attack with low damage and a large attack area, a slightly smaller assault with larger and more powerful projectiles, side-weapons that work well against shielded adversaries, and a special area attack that takes time to recharge. New weapons are obtained as you defeat bosses, and they can be equipped before the start of each level. Nothing stops you from using all of your weapons at the same time, but they all require ammunition. However, it is incredibly easy to get back because it drops whenever you hit an enemy. So, as you defeat an entire wave of smaller foes, you will notice a slew of icons flying right at your ship. Even if you run out, a friendly ship will come in and drop some icons. Aside from ammo, there is something called tech that can lead to an extra life. Overall, the game is really simple and lasts only around tw…4 found this helpful
For those who love the arcade classics (specifically you GALAGA fans) - highly recommend giving REVO a playthrough. It is basically a arcade shooter that has been modernized and "dialed up to 11" with all of the pewpew and neon glowy-ness. No spoilers, but one weapon you unlock later in the game might make you cackle like a madman when you first use it. Soundtrack is a banger too!4 found this helpful
Really fun and fast game also it can be kinda hard RECOMMENDED GO PEW PEW PEW2 found this helpful
Gameplay/Review: https://youtu.be/YUpeu9I9xOM Alright, REVO is hard. But you know what, that's ok. It is also a ton of fun. Visually beautiful, intense soundtrack, and despite finding the difficulty a bit much for me - I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it. This feels like an underrated title as well, as it certainly should be more visible to folks. The game has a very cool gameplay mechanic where you can disable enemy ships, which strategizes how you're going to play. I personally had a bit of a hard time with the meshing of all of the colors and neon lights, but it might be because I already have some issues with lights and colors. I'm not color blind, but just barely? There are some really cool weapons, neat levels, and great satisfaction that comes when you finish a level. It's very impressive, and quite enjoyable.1 found this helpful
Whew! I just played this game for the first time, and it is definitely action-packed! Beautiful graphics and a nice soundtrack, too. It reminds me of playing Galaga at the arcade when I was a kid, but with better graphics and music. If I could make a suggestion, it would be to either add some sort of a tutorial level when you play the first time, or offer to display the controls each time when you start the game. I died pretty early in my very first run because I had no idea what I was doing. By the third run, though, I generally understood what I was doing and even managed to beat the first boss.1 found this helpful
This is a very fun shoot 'em up with a retro feel and a very neon look. As a bonus it plays great on the Steam Deck.
