Let's start with the glaring change to combat, we've gone from Tactics to Standard RPG. I'm not saying I dislike Standard Turn-Based RPG's, I'm fine with them, big lover of Final Fantasy, Breath of Fire, Dragon Quest etc. However I really liked how this was a Tactics Based Series, however I do like the tie-in to the previous game in the form of our MC being the daughter of the first games MC. That was a nice subtle little nod which I feel didn't need to be done but the fact that they did? Thank you so much. Now for a few negative bits - The Puppets. The change here felt very much like they weren't all that important anymore. They're equippable now like Accessories whereas previously they felt like Valkyrie Profile's Einherjaar. They had story. Plot. Now.. not so much. The second issue I have is the same as the first game in a way - It's the Dungeons. Now the Dungeons were a bit difficult in the first game, but being an old veteran I got pen and paper out and used grids to work my way around. In this game we've gone full Final Fantasy 13. Linear. That's a really poor choice because it just went too much the opposite way, not it's too easy. There's no challenge at …

An amazing sequel to one of my favorite RPG games of all time.
Such Nostalgia <3 This sequel made me sooo happy, i feel like a kid again just like when i played the game 22 years ago. It is a tiny bit different than the first one, puppets are now summoned during fight instead of be put in party. Party members keeps changing according to the story line, which is great but it is a bit annoying to re equip their gears. I am currently on Act 5, but I have to savor it more and take it easy hahah, but so glad there is also the 3rd one! I will be devouring the game the next couple of days!!
Played the first game not to long ago as I never was able to back when it came out on PS1. Glad I waited all this time as well since we JUST NOW got part 2 and 3... Rhapsody II: Ballad of the Little Princess is a nice follow up to the original game, combat is a little different and the game a bit more grindy, but over all not to bad. Music as in the first game is really nice, and the musical numbers are fun. The English VA is a nice touch, but the swap between English VA and Japanese musical numbers is a bit odd. (I thank the devs for the subtitles though) Graphics look as good as any other PS1 Sprite RPG, and the colors really pop. If you liked the first game, please do play this one as well as the third one, you wont regret it.
