About Rival Fury
A three-dimensional street brawler, expanding the way you fight. Featuring atmospheric side scrolling arenas with unique depth and camera style. An immersive and fast paced gang busting experience. Running at your opponents will help you own the streets and increase your martial arts ability. Sharpen your footwork and watch bodies fly and cascade like dominos.
Colby and Kendra are legendary combat heroes, and not just for a day. Fight your way through 5 urban beat street battlegrounds. Corruption in the air has led to swarms of ill tempered bullies who only learn by their own knuckle politics.

Rival Fury is a game that WANTS to be good. It looks polished. But looks can be deceiving, as this game is anything but. It's early access in every sense of the term, and $10 USD is waay too expensive for what you're getting. Graphically, its vaguely cartoony yet not overdone visuals are pleasant enough to look at.(If a bit muddy.) It feels like a modern Double Dragon or Streets of Rage tribute in 2.5D. This is not a knock on the game at all; if you're going to ape a beat-em-up, these are games you'd want to imitate. However, that's where all of the flattery I can muster comes crashing down. There's no keybinding option. While I have no issue at all with the game requiring you to play with a controller (keyboard and mouse are not supported at all), the lack of any customization is problematic. If nothing else, looking at keybinding/control options gives you an easy overview of the controls. This is doubly necessary if the game never says “press A for punch” and the like. Guess what? The game NEVER tells you what button does what. You're on your own from the start. I literally had no idea how to block. I still don't. In fact, there's no options at all. I've played hundreds of beat 'em ups, and this is by far the worst I've ever experienced. The balancing is broken (spin-kicks make you invulnerable and take out everyone easily), there's no challenge, the stages drag on far too long, the physics are bizarre, and the second player character doesn't even function. Apparently the single-player is "complete" and the fighting mechanics are all thoroughly tested, according to the developer descriptions. I don't believe that for a moment.2 found this helpful
