If you're looking for a good off-roading simulator go get Snow Runner, this games physics are inconsistent at best. This game is also awfully repetitive. Most vehicles if they get stuck or flipped can only be recovered with 1 "rescue" vehicle as all other cranes and winches aren't strong enough to lift a vehicle half their weight and end up rolling or getting stuck themselves. Would not recommend at full price. Maybe get it if its discounted.

I was really excited to play this game but ended up getting a refund when I realized it wasn't what I had hoped for. I have about an hour of gameplay and here's why I requested a refund: * Vehicles consume gas insanely fast. I wanted to play this more like a sim so had fuel consumption enabled. However, during one of the first missions while searching for a generator I ran out of gas when I got to it so had to go back and refuel. I ended up refilling my truck three times just to go get a generator. Terrible. * Just look up the generator mission and you'll see plenty of people complaining about this. I was hoping this to be mostly realistic but right out the gate you're playing a mission where you're running your truck into wooden walls to make bridges to get to a generator that you bump around with your truck then drag back to your base. * Route vehicles are aggressive and run into you. Why? They're capable of honking the horn so they know you're there, seems like an odd choice and breaks the immersion. All of this, plus some mechanical/movement things, combine to the ultimate reason I asked for a refund and can't recommend the game. It breaks immersion by making things artificia…

All in all, I have to say that the gameplay is still quite frustrating. Not because the game is hard, but because it is still severely lacking in polish and QoL. Many vehicles do not behave as one would expect, suspension for example, is too soft for most vehicles and one of the most infuriating issues is that of differential lock. It has to be engaged like 90% of the time and vehicles that lack a diff lock are almost unusable which is a huge problem for NPC vehicles which don't use or don't have diff lock. To name at least something positive: The vehicles in general are cool and Roadcraft is the only game with tracked vehicles plus paving roads is satisfying and fun. I could go on and on with this about the physics that could still be improved, that there still is no vehicle damage which makes SAR trucks absolutely useless, but nobody is going to read such a long review anyway, so I'm going to cut short and tell you to buy the game as cheap as possible and prepare for headaches. If you really want a good offroading game with fewer features then go get Mudrunner. Still the best Spintires game in my opinion.

I loved MudRunner, spent countless hours on SnowRunner, and now, after few hours on RoadCraft, I'm planning to do the same. Ok it's the not officially the sequel of SnowRunner, but to me it is. Everything is better, especially the game engine, UI, and gameplay. I really love it!

As an old heavy equipment operator this game goes great with my morning coffee.
