About Robin Hood: Sherwood Defenders

The heroic icon of English ballads clashes with the forces of the nefarious Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood: Sherwood Defenders! Engage in raid defenses as you fend off wave after wave of incoming enemies both by placing structures and having Robin himself leap into the thick of the fight

The Defense

Set up a variety of defenses to prepare in advance of the enemy fighters' arrival. Towers, walls, traps, and gates all provide nasty surprises for those who would seek to fuel the Sheriff's greed. Hire additional soldiers to man the stronghold you create and help defeat the invaders before they take out its central structure!

The Economy

However, you'll need resources of your own if you're to withstand the growing onslaught, so don't forget to place production buildings alongside fortifications and then balance them to prevail. With the right resource income, you'll be able to afford upgrades to your current buildings and make them more effective in their purpose.

The Fight

Robin Hood takes charge of defending the homes of his most loyal allies in the fight against the Sheriff but he can also put his legendary archery and swordsmanship skills to use in the fights. As a wave of hostile soldiers appears, stand side-by-side with the other brave defenders! The different unit types among your allies and enemies have their strengths and weaknesses, so make the right choices!

The Rewards

As you succeed in battles, you make yourself ready to move on to a new area and unlock rewards in the form of new buildings, new defenses, new warriors, and even new arrows for Robin to use in the fight!

✦ AI summary

Players are split on Robin Hood: Sherwood Defenders, with some finding enjoyment in its tower defense mechanics and appreciating the strategic depth required, while others consider it fundamentally broken and frustratingly difficult. Common complaints center on poor game balance, inadequate tutorials and information about what buildings do, and an AI that feels unfairly overpowered with enemies destroying defenses almost instantly. The game appears to lack polish and meaningful updates, leaving players feeling like they're dealing with an unfinished product that needs significant refinement be
DLC of a crappy game makes for a crappy DLC.

Gameplay:
There are lots of things to build, but no one knows what they're for, rotten fights against cheating AI with a lame fake fighter. At best, you hide while watching a very rotten fight video.
It looks like early access after two weeks of development. Robin Hood: Sherwood Defenders is an action-strategy hybrid developed by MeanAstronauts and published by PlayWay S.A. together with Ritual Interactive, drawing inspiration from the enduring legend of Robin Hood while reframing it through a tower-defense survival lens. Instead of focusing on open-world exploration or narrative-heavy storytelling, the game centers on repeated defensive scenarios set in and around Sherwood Forest, where players must protect allied structures and positions from waves of enemy forces loyal to the Sheriff of Nottingham. The experience is built around the idea of Robin Hood not just as a heroic archer, but as a battlefield commander who combines planning, construction, and direct combat to hold the line against overwhelming odds. At its core, the gameplay loop revolves around preparation and execution. Before each assault, players gather resources and decide how best to fortify their position using walls, traps, towers, and production buildings. These choices shape the flow of each battle, as enemy units follow predictable paths that can be manipulated through clever placement of defenses. Once the fighting begins, the game shifts perspective by putting …

As much as I love Tower Defense games, I can't stand this one. It's so poorly designed gameplay-wise that I've never played a worse game of this type. Furthermore, there's no update; you can just avoid this crap. The invaders destroy your defenses in seconds. It's impossible to complete it in any way, the difficulty level, and the resource gain are abysmal. It doesn't matter if you upgrade everything, you'll die because there's no way to defend yourself. I didn't make it past wave 7, where two catapults took me 1.47 seconds. Ignore games that are a waste of time.
