Rock Quest: A Rhythm Adventure

Rock Quest is a blast! Story is so well written and the art design is incredible... perfect for a casual, cozy gaming session.

I'm loving this game! The music is a blast, the art style adds to the good times feel, and the storyline and little reveals along the way are a bunch of fun! Definitely worth checking out!

A rhythm RPG is a great concept. I've even played a couple that were really fun! To be fun, though, you need to master the fundamentals of rhythm game design at a bare minimum and this game just isn't there.

The game feels way too punishing even on Normal difficulty. If you mess up like 3 notes you lose. After calibrating I was able to hit my notes better, but my biggest issue is how the game calibrates: I have never seen a game solely do visual rhythm calibration. Every single rhythm game I have played and seen has done visual AND audio calibration for better accuracy, so it was immensely irritating to mostly guess where the calibration is opposed to pressing a key when you hear a beat. I do appreciate the Nick Cage cameo though (also wtf was up with that random zombie with 3500 health??? That was more than the next boss'!)
