About Rogue State

You led the revolution that freed the People's Republic of Basenji from the shackles of a corrupt monarchy. But now the new regime will be tested. You are the Glorious Leader who must hold onto power by maintaining the delicate balance between the interests of fundamentalists, capitalists, patriots, and liberals. However be aware, your brother, Farouk, consolidates power and influence with the intention to overthrow you! How will you manage affairs with your neighboring countries while ensuring you don't attract too much negative attention from the Americans? Will you be a generous donor to the United Nations? Or an international pariah building nuclear weapons in secret? The choice is yours in Rogue State.

Features

 • A world of possibilities! Over thirty possible state purchases, six clandestine projects, eight potential neighbors and hundreds of randomly generated events. No two games will ever be the same and the approaches you take in one game may not necessarily be successful in another.
 • Manage complex relationships that are more nuanced than war and peace. Forging unlikely alliances may just keep Basenji from the kinds of wars your leadership can't survive. Other leaders have distinct personalities that may inform your tactics.
 • Choose cabinet leaders to help manage your country. Maintain their favor by accomplishing relevant objectives.
 • Forge alliances, develop tourism, promote trade. Invade countries, assassinate your rivals, nuke the planet.
 • Beautiful comic imagery inspired by French comic artist Jean "Moebius" Giraud.
 • Thousands of lines of spoken dialogue, and the ability to play as either a male or female Head of State.
 • Be the dictator you need to be. Tackle problems with the level of freedom or oppression you desire.

A game for you if you enjoy being frustrated by RNG events and the worst timing of demands by your ministers, regardless if they are loyal or disloyal. Had potential but unpolished and lackluster, appearing to have cut corners here and there while putting effort into redundant parts.

Arrested after my brother started a coup against me.

This game is an entertaining and interesting experience for a mere 5 dollars. It's biggest problems are a lack of guides due to the fact that the sequel was much more popular, which result in a lot of outcomes being a bit unexpected. It reminds me a lot of Democracy 4. After you play a few times and naturally lose, you learn how things work and why things happen. Part of me wants to try winning on Easy or trying again on Medium to see if I can win or do better, but a whole another part of me thinks I should just install Rogue State Revolution.

Rogue State, developed and published by LRDGames, Inc., is a complex geopolitical strategy game that thrusts players into the precarious position of leading a fictional Middle Eastern country in the chaotic aftermath of a revolution. Released in 2015, the game offers a rich blend of political simulation, resource management, and narrative-driven decision-making that challenges players to navigate the delicate balance between maintaining power, fostering national stability, and managing the competing interests of a fractured population. As the newly appointed Head of State of Basenji, players must maneuver through a volatile environment where every choice carries weighty consequences, reflecting the messy realities of post-revolution governance. The gameplay centers around the intricate management of various facets of statecraft, including economic policy, military strength, diplomatic relations, and internal security. Each turn represents a cycle in which players make decisions that affect the country's political and social landscape. The game shines in its ability to simulate the trade-offs inherent in ruling a fragile state: for instance, cracking down on dissent may temporarily…

It's indie jank, but it's my kind of indie jank.

Fps locked to 36 no matter what graphics options you choose and the options are very limited like really limited but it's not game breaking of course. Music is nice, graphics quality is fixed. Looks like it has a lot of gameplay options, meaning there's probably a lot to do as the interim government. Before you start to play, you have to select who will be your ministers and they are randomized at every new game. Since fps is locked at 36, mouse is a little laggy even with v-sync off but it's fine since this isn't a real-time action game. Infact, i like to play at 30 fps if possible since it reduces power consumption; exceptions will be racing games or fast paced action games. Well so far i'm liking it and probably will be playing this more but i have plenty of other games yet to be played. About the mouse, sometimes it creates 2 pointers; one software and one hardware; and sometimes one or the other will get stuck in the middle of the screen. The remedy seems to be to alt-tab out and back into the game. I'm guessing this will be a 7/10
