ROM: Extraction is a fast-paced homage to the classic arcade shooter, featuring an unprecedented style of VR gameplay.
Welcome to the year 2076, where you now have the power to slow down time--called "Reflex" power. You'll play as a member of an Orb Extraction Unit, on your way to extract highly volatile energy matter--Orbs--from chambers on the moon. With only a few minutes to defend yourself against the onslaught of alien-built robots protecting the chambers, discover the immense satisfaction of decimating those ‘bots via your "Throw, Slow & Shoot" combat strategy.
As of Feb 28th 2017, ROM has been updated with a new expansion, entitled “Overrun.”
Overrun is a whole new level for players to master, featuring several unique twists on VR gameplay. Your journey to the escape pods continues through the depths of the extraction vessel. The ship has been overrun! Systems are malfunctioning, and you must face highly dangerous enemies on the lower levels of the ship--and escape to the planet surface with your life.

Gameplay
- Use Orbs in combination with your pistol to “Throw, Slow, and Shoot”
- Shoot Orbs in proximity of enemies for the most strategic kills
- Use the environment to your advantage--be on the lookout for destructibles
- Grab the two-handed EOS-15 rifle when you shoot the floating gun token
- Use the EOS-15 to “Launch, Slow, Shoot”--a new twist on the core game mechanic that gives you an orb-launching, auto-firing weapon of destruction
- When “jumpers” are in close proximity, use your pistol or EOS-15 to pop off their heads!

An abandoned 12 minute game. DO NOT BUY AT ANY PRICE as the devs lied to everyone in 2017 saying more content was coming, and in Nov 2019 we are still waiting.4 found this helpful
This game is abandonware, it hasn't had an update since April 2017. It still only has two levels, two guns and one enemy type, and you can finish the whole thing in less than 20 minutes. Its also horribly optimized, I spent more time tweaking the graphics settings than I did actually playing.3 found this helpful
+/- Has a multiplayer mode ---- WITH NO ONE PLAYING -Costs money -Developer "released" this before it was finished so they could say they didn't abandon it. -It's the most boring, uninspired type of VR game there can be a WAVE SHOOTER -It's bad 0/5 I can't recommend something the developers "Released" only so they could abandon it and release something half finished. Also to make matters worse, it's easily one of the worst, laziest cash grab game types to come to VR, a Wave Shooter. Visually its very pretty, controls are easy to get to grips with,, but after the time spent downloading it, getting the VR set out and on, took longer then any gameplay., tutorial and 1 lvl in 2 parts, was a b it suprised to say the least, when you consider this is 2 years old at the time of posting , there seems to have been no further updates or development, definatley not worth the current asking price, i cant complain about cost due to getting it free on humble bundle, only way they can shift it now id imagine2 found this helpful
The only downside is that there is just one chapter, no story line.
Cool but very short indeed. However, it was good fun.
