Roboquest VR

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic VR roguelite shooter — multiplayer is a blast! This was my first time playing Roboquest, and VR turned out to be a great way to experience it. The movement feels smooth, the gunplay is punchy and satisfying, and blasting through runs with a friend is exactly as chaotic and fun as you'd hope. I kept coming back for more sessions — it's got that "one more run" pull that the best roguelites have. What really excites me is where this could go. The core loop is already rock solid, and having co-op in VR is something very few shooters in this space pull off. If the devs keep building on this foundation — smoothing out the multiplayer experience, adding more content over time — this could easily become the go-to co-op VR roguelite. The potential here is huge. Since multiplayer is still fresh, a few friendly notes from our sessions that I hope help the devs polish it up: Session flow could be smoother. It wasn't obvious at first that we needed to head to the camper to actually start a run — we assumed creating a group would kick things off automatically. A small prompt or highlight would help a lot. Room codes are a bit long, and once a session ends, the old code is dead, …

This game is great, but the VR port is amazing! The catroonish, cel-shaded graphics "à la Borderlands" is beautiful, movements and interactions are smooth, but what impressed me the most was the level verticality you don't expect (until you unlock the jetpack or the grappling hook) and the amount of weapons: I don't know which other games have such a ginormous choice of deadly items! Also, if you dig deeper this is a game with A TON of things to discover and unlock: perks, characters, collectibles or funny pieces of lore. You can play the game as a great robot shooter, or add hours of fun with all its roguelike elements!

A very successful VR port. The game hasn’t lost any of its signature speed or satisfying challenge. The controls feel very intuitive and pleasant, and the gameplay shines in a whole new way in VR. The optimization feels a bit weak so far, though, and could use some improvement. Still, we’re really looking forward to co-op!

Thinking about returning this - there is some sort of glitch where I can't switch weapons. You are supposed to reach over your shoulder and hit the grip button. Nope - you get the same weapon again. Infuriating! Playing on Quest 3 on PCVR Okay - finally figured it out. In most games you hold the grip to keep holding the weapon. If you let go, the weapon falls. In this game you aren't supposed to do that. The grip is a simple toggle press. So you reach over your shoulder (not holding the grip) and then just hit grip. The weapon should change. I feel this could have been explained better. Anyway - I will play a bit and re-evaluate my recommendation.
