I really enjoyed this visual novel! The game focuses more on the plot than the romances so if you’re looking for a super spicy game this isn’t it. However, it is a really fun mystery! I spent about 8 hours on my first play through. Because of the choices I made I wasn’t confident about who did it down to the last minute. While there are some inconsistencies in the spelling of names it didn’t really bother me since it’s an indie studio making their first game. I saw lots of improvements from the demo and loved getting to know the characters better. The ending felt like a cliff hangar since we didn’t get to see how the MC’s relationship ended up. But I’m looking forward to seeing more from this studio! *I did receive a key for this game and didn’t purchase it myself but was not sponsored.3 found this helpful
Thanks a lot for sending me the demo and the key to try out the game. The demo is very captivating that introduces us to the suspects, so I would recommend everyone to try out the demo to get a feel of the game's story writing. I'd suggest not to look at the art in the trailer too much since it'll spoil the surprise later. The beginning is a bit sudden, but once we settle in the story of the investigation, getting to know the characters, and starting to uncover their secrets, it's very interesting. We played the game once, but reloaded multiple times to try out different routes so we can see all the contents without replaying, then decide which route to take in order to determine the killer. The demo took us 2 hours, the full game probably 10 hours and 2 extra hours is replaying for additional ending and yapping/deciding which option to select. So maybe 8 hours for someone who's quick at it.
Things we enjoy:
1. easy save and reload feature 2. multiple options to choose so we need to determine the ones that are most related to solving the case 3. beautiful and detail art makes the story emerging 4. Notebook makes it easy to keep track of evidence 5. UI is clean and eas…2 found this helpful
Hours played: 25 Rating (1-10): 7 Synopsis: Rose Academy, an elite girls school has suffered a tragedy. Aivelin Frost, the academy's premier student, a young woman with everything going her way, was found hanging in the swimming pool locker room. Did she commit suicide? If so why? If not, what actually happened there? That is exactly what the academy's headmistress brought you in to figure out before things spiral completely out of control. Pro's: This is a Ren'Py VN, and it supports all necessary VN functions especially the ability to backpage. There is a gallery as well as a menu setting that allows adult content (mostly innuendo) to be toned down. The characters are well crafted and likeable. Fetishes & Kinks: not applicable Final thoughts: I want to thank KK Studios for extending the group an opportunity to review Rose Academy. While I enjoy the occasional 'who done it,' they are not my primary interest in VN/AVNs (imagine that.) I found Rose Academy well done and enjoyable enough that I've kept coming back to it even though my gifted copy was broken for quite awhile, so this review isn't exactly timely! That said, I found the plot and characters rich enough and deep enou…2 found this helpful
Rose Academy really gave me a fun time. Playing as a sharp, handsome specialist (with a childhood connection to the principal) makes the player's arrival to this all-girls academy feel personal in a fun way. The game leans into that anime energy, and the cast’s emotional reactions add charm without feeling too over the top. The mystery was solid, and the character routes feel worth exploring. Everything flows well and kept me interested the whole way through. Big shoutout to the developers for recognizing the early demo reviewers—that kind of appreciation goes a long way with the community. I genuinely wasn’t expecting to see my online persona referenced in one of the clues, but it was a really cool (and gratifying) moment as a streamer.1 found this helpful
