"Cannot confirm the activation of Steam VR". Apparently, this has been an issue for years. Kinda wanna tell the devs to burn in hell because this is totally whack. I tried using meta link (I have a meta quest 3s). I tried using a cable. I tried using wifi. I tried steam link. That was what I did for my 5 minutes of gameplay before I could leave this review. Until fixed, this game is LITERALLY UNPLAYABLE. Gee, thanks devs. Love reading "Cannot confirm the activation of Steam VR" over and over again. PS. I went and bought Virtual Desktop, which I am pissed about. Seriously. I'm really mad that in order to play this game, I had to spend an extra $25... but yeah, I'm a half hour in and it's really fun so far. If it winds up being phenomenal, I will have to go back and update my review to positive with a serious caveat. For now, it has a lot to prove to me after the advertising that led me to believe that if I bought this on Steam, I would be able to play out of the box.

Play this game on Easy/Normal. There is no reason to play on Hard mode unless you are a masochist. Purchased this game on sale. Recommend getting it on sale. I was interested in this game because this was not a VR shooter game. This has the anime inspired appeal and some nice voice acting. What I disliked about this game: 1) Game music overpowers voice actors. For the love of god, this happens to many games and unfortunately, happened to this game too. Even lower other options, the game music just overpowers the voices. 2) Scrolling through inventory to use the right healing potion and dying as you were too busy scrolling for the right item. There needs to be a better inventory management for potions/healing and other items should be "stored" elsewhere. 3) Using the shield is nice and dandy, but I have a heavy grip and sometimes would pull/use items from my chest. Certain shields you squeeze the grip to activate it, but squeezing the grip close to your chest also activate pulling the item to be used on your chest. This was not thought through. 4) Not being able to turn down difficulty when in a tough fight cause if you are an idiot like me, assumed "hard" difficu…

No left handed support

Initially, the game didn't convince me. You can very much tell that it is not a game made with PCVR in mind, interaction with the environment occurs exclusively through spells and a simple grab mechanic and the story initally felt simple and surface level. However, I'm glad that something kept me going, because as it goes on the game really shows its greatest strength: it's not a sandbox. The additional spells and equipment unlocked by progressing the story make entering the ruins again and again actually enjoyable. The initial fear of the "single" dungeon being too repetitive subsided upon seeing the different types of enviroments the game manages to offer without ever straying entirely from the Magic Ruins theme. Similarily, the presentation during some of the cutscenes genuinely impressed me and some plot points of the subplots did manage to surprise me. While I usually have low tolerance for cutscenes and dialogue in VR, I found myself looking forward to seeing what the game had to show me next. Overall, both gameplay and narrative, while neither is perfect, went far beyond what I expected after playing the demo and I'm very glad I decided to stick with the game.

Really fun and comfy VR game that which is exactly what I was looking for. Game is a bit simple as others have said, but the atmosphere, voice acting, and story more than make up for it. Looking forward to CharacterBank's next game!

I wish more people played this game, because it is just really great. Your supporting character Iris really makes the game. Plus the combat is good and the progression feels dialed in. I'll certainly be getting their next game when it releases. I'm close to finishing the game. I played with my Quest 3 via Virtual Desktop without any issues.
