Bought stocks from robots. They sold me trash then vanished on vacation. Even the pixel art looked at me with pity.3 found this helpful
A Nostalgic Trading Idea That Gets Lost in Repetition
I actually like the idea behind 16bit Trader, a simple, old-school trading game where you travel between towns, buy low, sell high, and slowly build up your own little merchant empire. It sounds like something I’d enjoy in short sessions, especially with that retro pixel vibe. And to be fair, at the beginning, it does feel kinda relaxing just moving from place to place and trying to figure out where to make profit. But the more I played, the more I started to notice how shallow everything really is. The core loop is basically the entire game: go to a town, check prices, buy something, travel, sell it, repeat. There are quests and small side activities, but they don’t really change how the game plays, they just feel like extra steps in the same routine. The biggest issue for me is how repetitive it gets. After a short while, I felt like I had already seen everything the game had to offer. There’s no real sense of progression beyond slightly bigger trades, and even that can feel random at times. A lot of decisions don’t feel strategic, more like guessing and hoping the next town gives you a better price. Anoth…1 found this helpful
