About Rush for the Ages
Rush for the Ages is a quick card game about outplaying your two opponents while rushing through the ages to unlock new possibilities.
Find the best synergies between the different cards. Strategically throw cards away to make the game advance to the next age knowing other players may pick them back up. Compete for prestige tokens and try to impose your supremacy. But as soon as any player sets down a 7th card in their timeline, the game ends and a winner is sanctified.
Each run is usually very short, lasting between 2 and 10 minutes, and always very different from the last. Each card is unique and may impact the game for all players. Let the prestige tokens guide your strategy for extra points, or do your own thing and make the best out of the cards you're dealt.
The game features 7 different difficulties to play and unlock with the 21 civilizations in the game, as well as a gauntlet mode where you pick one civilization and try to beat all the others. Will you make your civilization come out on top?

Fun little card game that you can play for five minutes or five hours. Great for when your wife just left you and you don't know what to do with yourself, or for when you get ready for work ten minutes before you have to leave.3 found this helpful
Has real "okay, just one more game" energy to it. There is a bit of luck to winning, but the games play so quickly it's easy to forgive it. Honestly, if the devs ever release this as a physical board game with a little more polish and balance, I could see this hitting the table as a solid, somewhat crunchy-yet-lightweight filler like Fantasy Realms.1 found this helpful
Fun, easy to learn card game, like a lite Dominion with elements of Innovation (the physical card game). I've had a great time learning how to beat the various AI challenge levels. I only wish the games lasted a little bit longer, so the cards from the final age could be played more! But all in all, a fun challenge to conquer!1 found this helpful
Rush for the Ages, developed and published by PUNKCAKE Delicieux, is a compact strategy title that takes the broad concepts of civilization-building and condenses them into a fast-paced, card-driven format. Instead of sprawling maps and hours-long campaigns, it delivers a streamlined experience where every decision is immediate and impactful. The game feels less like a traditional 4X strategy and more like a cleverly designed board game, emphasizing efficiency, timing, and adaptability within a tightly contained structure. The core gameplay revolves around constructing a timeline of historical developments using a limited hand of cards. Each turn presents a choice: play a card into your personal timeline, contribute it to a shared pool, or cycle your options in search of something better. This shared pool becomes one of the game’s most interesting mechanics, as it introduces a layer of indirect competition. Adding cards to it can accelerate progress into new eras and unlock opportunities, but it also benefits your opponents, forcing you to weigh personal gain against potential advantage for others. This constant push-and-pull gives even simple decisions a strategic edge, as you ar…
Fun little puzzler. Games are so fast it's very pickup-able. Games are RNG affected hugely, but there's some slight progression and it's not expensive.
The game is simple and fun. I recommend it but it could be a bit more accessible. The font in all caps is a bit hard to read for me. I stumbled upon a few graphic glitches/bugs when playing Gauntlet mode and for Quick Game I wish there was a "quick" way to Play Again right after finishing a game, instead of being thrown back at the main menu. However, some of the suggestions by Viewless are very much needed and are still not in the game. Abandoning a game without having to kill the program, for example. It doesn't have to save the progress, just being able to go back to the main menu would be good. Also being able to trigger the Prestige Token tool-tips when being prompted by a decision. It gives crucial information that you'll need if you don't have the tokens memorized. Finally, I noticed the AI for the civilizations tends to finish the game even if it's not convenient for itself. Like, it plays the final card not caring if it's going to lose, sometimes giving me the win and sometimes giving the win to the other AI, so it feels like their heuristics don't care that much about their own individual victory, but for any of the two AIs to win which then feels either unfair or ar…
