About RymdResa
A roguelike space odyssey in a procedurally generated world
When home is no more...
Resources are sparse. The universe is infinite and unknown. The universe is lonely, open and unforgiving.
You're drifting, in a big, empty and silent space. Searching for a new home. You know a few coordinates to some random locations; but this is the only information you got.

RymdResa is a challenging and evolving space adventure, based on randomness, with RPG elements. Abstract story elements and art are expressed throughout a lonesome and calm journey in space.
Travel through a mysterious cosmos, deep and beyond. Discover the solitude of space! Customize your ship, explore and survive in the retro stylized universe of RymdResa.

Solitude of space
The universe is lonely, open and unforgiving, but that doesn't mean it isn't peaceful. We have tried to create a place for relaxation and beauty.
Procedural World
The world is infinite and different every time you play, with over 300 different objects to discover and explore; like planets, stars and spaceships.
Randomized Loot
There is a large amount of different item types you can find to enhance your ship. These are randomized. Try to get legendary items!

Ship Customization
There are 8 ships in RymdResa. Every ship has in total 8 item slots, whereof 2 are unlockable. You can find different styles, auras, engines and other improvements.
Pilot Level
Level up to become a master pilot! Choose orientation, focus on exploring, scouring, survival or technology.
Upgrades
Discover a set of several different upgrades, like researches and different worlds enhancements; why not for example unlock the shield as an item type or see moons in space?

3 Chapters
RymdResa is an evolving space adventure. Each chapter has unique gameplay and a unique narrative. Chapter 3 is set in a new universe!
Beautiful Art
Poetry, peace and art. Explore and enjoy a big set of visuals, crafted with RymdResa's art style; pixelart mixed with a posterized style combined with a strict color pallet.
Original Soundtrack
Every ship has a custom soundtrack enhancing the world around it. Two musicians: Tom Croke and Pat Jacobs created the soundtrack with their vision of the game.

Voiced Story
A poetic voice log from the pilot describing a great loss, thoughts and feelings. Abstract fragments discussing the past, present and future.
Nonviolent
We didn't want to create yet another space-shooter, with laser-beams and exploding aliens. In RymdResa the gameplay is peaceful, passive and relaxing.

No idea what this is supposed to be about. Wander aimlessly in space losing fuel. Reach destination to recover fuel. Repeat. Most of what kills me arrives out of nowhere. Most of the stuff I find simply gives me "exploration failed." There doesn't seem to be anything to do. Thought I'd like it by the looks of it, but couldn't find any fun in there.5 found this helpful
Kind of fun and chill, but also mad buggy and every voiced line is eye-rollingly vapid and pretentious. I just alt-tabbed out and for some reason that made everything reset and I lost 3 hours of progress.4 found this helpful
Ethereally beautiful.1 found this helpful
The game is relaxing and simple to understand. I'd would give it a thumbs up and recommend it, except... THE GAME CONSTANTLY CRASHES AND RESETS! Fullscreen? Whenever you look at any other program or a program throws up a notification the games resets and you lose your run. Window mode? The game window even jiggles and *bam!* Reset. Notification? Reset. Resize window? Reset. Randomly fly too far? Reset. Check too many of your menus too fast? Reset. It's unbearable. If the Devs fix it. I'll change my review.
You can make this a relaxing exploration of space or a dial up the challenge and make every maneuver matter. It's a great game that I find at its best when you lower the difficulty and just fly.
It has taken me years to finally sit down and decide to beat this game. I'm glad I did, but it really shouldn't have taken that long. RymdResa is an art piece that is also a game. You come for the rogue-like asteriods-style exploration, but you stay for the enchanting atmosphere, surreal music, and ennui-fueled poetry. If you are someone who is put off by indirect storytelling or if you are not someone who will page through a book of poetry on a whim, you may not enjoy this game. If you dislike games where you lack the ability to fight, you also probably will not like this game. While there are items you can acquire that remove threats, there is absolutely no combat in this game. In fact, think of it less as lacking combat, and more that the gameplay loop involves avoided obstacles, much in the same way as a 2d platformer. In that way this is less Rogue and more Super Meat Boy with a health bar, to use as best an analogy I can conjure right now. My only complaints are this game are mechanical ones. Firstly, that resizing the windows makes the game restart. That is annoying. Also, whenever I died in a "boss fight" in chapter 3, my game crashed (though in such a weird way and with …
