Sakura, The Jirai-kei Magical Girl

This VN is very sweet, I literally just got it because I fell for the jirai-kei and magical girl bait but honestly enjoyed my time with it quite a lot! The story has plenty of potential, the world-building was surprisingly interesting (for a short galge) and I was invested in the lore and general themes (didn't expect it to get emotional too lol). I found the plot decently entertaining and absolutely adore the heroine and her interactions, she's truly one of the cutest girlfailures I've encountered in romance vns so far. <3 The art is stunning and the soundtrack is very catchy, additionally I love the cute UI. My only gripe is with how bad and cringe the writing occasionally gets, especially regarding the protagonist and his perspective, plus the dramatic extend of how oblivious the heroine is; at times it felt like an amateur fanfiction with excessive fanservice (not unusual for the genre but it notably worsened my overall impression). Altogether it's a pleasant game however, just recommend it on sale due to the length!

Great & Wholesome story!! I forgot it was an eroge visual novel type game!! If you enjoy watching Hentai for the Plot, well guess this is kinda like the game equiv!! Kinda risky to stream/play due to the H parts, but very fun!!

The game's story is cute, interesting, and entertaining. There are several choices to make throughout the game, and there's some fan service. The outfits are all very beautiful, but the only "Jirei-kei" aspect is the protagonist's aesthetic—her clothes, hair, and piercings. Nothing else is reminiscent of "Jirai-kei." There's no mention of topics like "menhera," "toyoko kids," difficult situations in adolescence or family, or anything about the actual Jirai-kei subculture. It's just the protagonist's aesthetic, nothing more. Regarding the story, it might make sense for these topics not to be addressed, as the plot focuses on something completely different (monsters with human forms that coexist with humanity, and occasionally need to be "put back in their place"). However, the fact that the protagonist wears this style is merely a matter of aesthetic pleasure for the player, to make her look cute. If she had been a girl with a "normie" aesthetic, it wouldn't have changed anything in terms of the story. Honestly, I bought the game because I'm a fan of Japanese subcultures, and in the end, I found it to be a cute story, with tender moments, action, and a few moments of reflection.…

Sakura is amazing, MC is generally likeable and fun for the PoV The translation isn't quite perfect, but it can easily be overlooked and it's well worth to pick up Really sweet mix of serious world-building and personal shenanigans, I especially liked the visuals and Sakura art and voice acting The patch adds some context and it's great
