Sanguine Soul

"Sanguine Soul" is, I am really hoping, a student project or something... which might go as some way to explaining why it's so bad. If it's not, then this is just an unmitigated disaster. If it is, well, we can just wonder if any of the students graduated. What do you do in the game? This is a first person shooter, a bad one, with limited attacks, busted dash mechanics, zero polish, cringe voice acting and annoying cutscenes, repetitive enemies with terrible AI... really there's no saving graces here apart from the game being a bit easy. I don't think it matters if a game is easy or hard if it's so badly made nobody wants to play it. The graphics aren't great, a bunch of mismatched looking (sometimes) low poly assets... it's a hectic and incongruous looking mess.. That's understandably a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. I had fun! Good, clean, simple, fast-paced arcade style gameplay. You have to find keys to progress. This game gives me classic Doom vibes. Dashing through the air like Dovahkiin is also fun, and I appreciate how the platforming is laid out in a way where you can't undershoot or overshoot it with the air dash spell. The health and mana swap mechanic is so cool!! It allows a lot of flexibility in how I handled the rooms filled with enemies. Also, regenerating your resources from headshotting the golem enemies is a nice touch! Nicely done.

zero context you play as the obvious bad guy cringey voice acting and cutscenes there's a total of 3 enemies and no bosses entirely unnecessary shield mechanic (just strafe and nothing can damage you 4head) checkpoints make it way too easy by keeping all dead enemies dead and regenning your health/magic I GOT MY CONTROLLER OUT FOR THIS?
