Don't ignore the mixed reviews. Odds are pretty high you won't like this game. Schim takes a cool concept and immediately squanders it, diluting the joy of jumping from shadow to shadow with a mopey story, a baffling camera angle, confusing puzzles, and messy level design. Tried to play this one with my kid and we were both put off within minutes. Pushed through the first hour, then refunded.

This game had SO much potential, and I really wanted to love it. The art style is great and the concept is fantastic. But man, they really missed the mark. Instead of building on and utilizing cool mechanics like using the sign or clothesline shadows to bounce you farther or higher, or manipulating objects to change their shadows, they mostly just made each level jumping from shadow to shadow with no effort at all. It's very easy to get lost or stuck. Your goal constantly changes, and is often super random and doesn't have anything to do with the story at all. But the biggest problem for me was that there's literally no reward for all the jumping and hard work you do. You'll finally land within feet of your lost person, only to watch a short cut scene of your lost person doing... something, and then you are suddenly on the opposite end of the level as your lost person wanders away. It makes no sense, and feels like a punishment. The gameplay and story really needed more development, and I found the whole thing really frustrating. I wanted to love it, but ultimately I can't recommend it.

This game was a delight. It is simple and at some points I was sort of bored, but I did enjoy my time playing this game. The simplicity of the art mixed with the simple calming music really brought this game into the cozy gamer world. I did enjoy this game and would play it again!

Not worth the time and money. The overall problem is that it looks like a good and unique concept. That's it. Everything else sucks, including the mechanics and interactions in the game. The story is meh and I would personally rate this game meh/10. Not worth buying even on sale in my opinion.

SCHiM delivers a one-of-a-kind 3D platforming experience centered on jumping between shadows in a visually relaxing world. A major highlight is that the game officially supports Arabic in its menus, and since it contains no dialogue, it offers a perfectly seamless and accessible experience for Arabic-speaking players. Its innovative use of light and shadow makes it a standout relaxing title that I highly recommend

Such a cool concept, however after the first couple levels it is incredibly easy to get stuck and as of the car intersection level I have no idea how to move forward. And at looking at other reviews it looks like it is pretty tedious to do so
