Two worlds exist side by side; one made of light that is of full vibrant colors, the other a dark world of shadows that’s void of color. The natural laws that govern the world dictate that these worlds live together yet remain separated. In Shadowland, we will be breaking the laws of nature as we journey into the barriers between them. As we begin our adventure, the world of Shadowland is in its normal shades of grey. We know there is more to the world than what lies before us, so we venture out into it to see what else may exist beyond here. As we begin, we are bound by the laws of shadows; to find the answers we seek we will have to journey through many zones while traversing the ever-changing dynamics in each of them. The journey will take you through dangerous terrain, full of plants that will quickly devour you should you fall into their clutches. As you progress, the world of color bleeds into your world, adding new possibilities in navigation. You will need to manipulate the light to find a way across the levels in the puzzling journey that lies ahead of you. Released & self-published on Jul 3, 2019, by the developer David Serrat, this is their first release on Steam. I ha…

Minimalist, but well designed puzzle platformer, which will immerse you in original ideas of light and shadow, moody soundtrack and thought provoking quotes across more than 80 levels. #casual For more quick reviews please follow my curator.

If You'd like to watch my review of Shadowland, check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVZBZ1LmPL4&feature=youtu.be A perfect example of what an excellent indie game looks like. Sometimes it feels like indie games try to push graphics over quality. But not this game. Shadowland immerses you in a limbo like atmosphere (no pun intended) with dynamic shadows and lighting. Much like Limbo you start off in a unfamiliar location with no memory or knowledge of where you are. You run through various stages completing a variety of unique puzzles using shadows and lights as your literal platforms. While doing the puzzles you are hear a calming soundtrack being played (the soundtrack is outstanding). There 8 worlds and 80 stages (10 stages per world). From what I understand the reason why the game is in black and white to because the world has somehow lost its color. Every time you complete a world, the color is slowly restored. I'm about half way through the game and cant wait to see what happens when the color is completely restored to the world of shadowland. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVZBZ1LmPL4&feature=youtu.be
