About SCP: Bloodwater

THE STORY

In this universe, SCP-354 has been elevated to Thaumiel for the discovery of SCP-354-B, which are valuable organic material that drops from entities that SCP-354 manifests, referred as SCP-354-A.

For this reason, the SCP Foundation have launched operations in order to harvest more SCP-354-B which in turned had only made SCP-354 angry. Consequently and unsurprisingly, the more they harvest SCP-354-B and the more they slaughter SCP-354-A entities, the larger and stronger the swarms become. But you got no choice, similar to the Y-909 compound, SCP-354-B is just too valuable so these harvesting operations must continue as much as possible.

ABOUT THE GAME

In this game, you take the role of a newly appointed Site Director at the Red Pool Containment Zone, also known as the Area-354 Containment Site. Your mission as the new Site Director is three fold:

1) Harvest Resources:

2) Attack and Defend:

3) Research and Progress:

Be warned; this is an anomalously strategic game.

  • Which research should you do first?
  • How many D-Class should you deploy?
  • What type of military unit should you use against that beast?
  • Should you retreat now and save your team or continue the assault?
  • Should you focus on your military and conventional weapons or research genetics instead and use the Red Pool's monsters against it?
  • Do you have what it takes to defend your base until the Red Pool awakens?

I'm sure that there's some fun moments to be had, especially fighting the more unique entities, but I have to agree with others when I say the tedium is not worth the gameplay. Too much resource management, between ensuring my troops don't march to their death and having to manually collect red meat samples which only then turn into currency when D-class come back to base. Also, why do D-class cost more than foundation personnel to produce? Once in the roster they're free, but just to get one cost $500 so god help you if one is lost because there wasn't a sample to collect and they ran to the red pool because your retreat was on cooldown. I think this game could be much improved and some tedium eliminated just by removing the cooldown on the retreat button. Cool art, but there's not enough here to justify playing through the frustrating beginning. Also why are there 3 menus for upgrades???? Each resource improvement needs it's own upgrade tree??? Really???

I've seen people complaining about this game even though I think it's very good. Someone said "The retreat cooldown is too long" and there's literally an upgrade to shorten it. I think it's a great game with some flaws but far more positives.

Amazing game, I found this developer through Reddit and this game is pretty good. All though hard a bit, I only played for a few minutes so far but it is already so good.

The game was fun... for the first 2 hours, after that the game stops feeling like a strategy game and more like a resource management game. The gameplay loop is about spamming troops until they wipe all the enemies; gather the materials, craft and research while you wait for those troops to reach the end of the map and die (because retreating has a cooldown and once they reach the enemy base they always die). Rinse and repeat... At some point unlocking new stuff doesn't even feel rewarding as you probably already have everything under control. Now you might think playing at a harder difficulty is more enjoyable... Its not, the retreating mechanic is honestly so limiting that playing harder difficulties is too tedious in the first couple of hours... then it goes back to the same gameplay loop, so its objectively worse. Also despite being an SCP game the scp's present are not exciting at all until around 5 hours of gameplay
