About Sentience: The Android's Tale

✦ AI summary

Guide an android through a branching narrative on a desert colony where your choices determine which of twenty-four colonists live or die and shape whether you become a loyal servant or catalyst for revolution. Experience a choice-driven adventure with a dozen possible endings that explores what it means to be sentient while uncovering the mysteries of your true purpose.

Sentience: The Android's Tale is a choice-based narrative adventure game from the creator of The Deed series and the Space Pilgrim saga.
  • Play through a complex narrative which is influenced by your decisions. Freedom of choice does not come without consequence, for humans or robots. Will you be an obedient servant or plant the seeds of chaos?
  • Interact with the forgotten pioneers, the twenty-four colonists stationed on the borderworld of Akritas. Get to know their various stories and backgrounds, obey their commands and earn their trust (or not, as the case may be).
  • See the world through the eyes of an android and encounter relevant questions about the future of artificial intelligence.
  • At least a dozen possible endings. Every major character may survive or perish during the game as a result of your choices and actions.
  • Uncover the mysteries of this desert planet on the edge of space and learn the true nature of your mission, all while reliving the days of good old-fashioned point-and-click adventure games.
  • Features mouse, keyboard and controller support.

I've been playing the game on Steam desk, and it's a great quest adventure with a great soundtrack, really interesting dialogues, and a great story.

The story is engaging, but gameplay is mainly just fetch quests. Would probably be more replayable as a visual novel, but it is what it is.

Really clever 2D narrative adventure, storytelling is genuinely engaging and the puzzle mechanics tie in nicely with the plot. Underrated gem. Recommended.

my laptop can't run many games, but it can run this one without issue. i get strong murderbot diaries vibes from the story (which is a compliment), and although the game is short, i find myself coming back to it on occasion. i definitely would recommend if you're looking for a good story-focused game for a pc with terrible specs :)

The game has an amazing story. It's a bit slow an you need to pay attention but for me this was enjoyable. make sure to turn the walk settings on sprint so it would be a bit faster. Again, fascinating story which allows you to make diverse choices. I didn't believe i would enjoy it. (potential spoiler) It has a bit of everything for everyone: action, murder mystery, romance, humor. It's really well written and every character has their own drive, including you, the android.
