What does it do?

Serious Sam Fusion 2017 enables a lot of cool new features, like a common workshop and cross-game mods. All of the games can be started from one application, so you can jump between playing The First Encounter level to a Serious Sam 3 level and back without exiting the game. When listing game servers, servers playing TFE, TSE, SS3 – will all appear in the same list and you can vote map across games if you want. Oh, and owners of our VR games are able to play multiplayer together with their "flat" counterparts!
Since there are so many changes and exciting new features, we'll just go ahead a list them here as bullet points.

Cool new features in Serious Sam Fusion 2017

  • All games now support SteamOS/Linux/OSX!
  • Split-screen!
  • 64bit executables
  • Support for Vulkan API (DirectX9 is now being removed)
  • Multithreaded rendering
  • The new "light-weight" savegame system - savegames are now saved much faster, are very small and stored in the Steam cloud, and savegames still work even if a level is changed in a patch, or if a mod is updated

  • Proper multimonitor support
  • Borderless window support
  • Customizable sound outputs

  • Lots of other improvements, optimizations and fixes

Serious Sam Fusion is a fantastic unified hub for the HD remakes and, in my opinion, the definitive way to play Serious Sam 3. The optimization is noticeably better than the standalone version, loading times are improved, and the QOL features make the overall experience much smoother. Whenever I want to replay the HD remakes or Serious Sam 3, I always choose Fusion because it simply feels better to play. The biggest reason Fusion is still worth using today is the incredible Steam Workshop support. The modding community has done an amazing job keeping the project alive with bug fixes, gameplay improvements, custom content, and other enhancements. Without the community, Fusion would likely have been forgotten. That said, it’s really unfortunate that Croteam abandoned Fusion while it was still in beta. Because of that, the game still suffers from bugs, including enemy AI and spawning issues that can significantly affect gameplay. These problems become especially frustrating on higher difficulties, where incorrect enemy behavior can make encounters unfair or even unplayable. If you’re looking for the most authentic, unmodified vanilla experience, I’d recommend the standalone versions i…

One of the best SS series. This one is more inclined in over the corner suspense.
