Shifting To The Backrooms

[b]First and foremost I gotta state that this game's story is about a really heavy topic, so if you're not into that, you should consider sitting this one out.[/b] On the other hand, this game not only made me ♥♥♥♥ my pants but also mentally scarred me, had its ups and downs, also I really liked how the game uses sleep and nightmares we often experience like not being able to properly run when being chased, seeing spiders everywhere etc. Its so vastly different from other backrooms games that its in a category of its own. Horror was well used, not overly saturated with chase scenes and unnecessarily hard and obscure puzzles. Would recommend if you like horror with a psychological touch to it.

Not a bad game, and I found the story interesting, but one thing felt like too much. The game made me hide from enemies too often. It happened so frequently that it started to get annoying. By the time I reached the maze with plants, I was already tired of it, so I decided to step away from the game for a while

It's not a complete waste of time. The concept is cool, and a lot of the levels provide some good scenery. The character models are goofy af, the voice acting is terrible, there isn't much going on for story (and it's poorly delivered), and it's short. All of those things are excusable, however, my only real complaint with the game is that barely any of the levels are intuitively designed. Almost every single level has little (if ANY) explanation/direction. You just spawn in an area and have to figure out what you're supposed to be doing. There are no hints, nothing is obvious, and even when you find a key item - you're not told what to do with it. I was only able to finish 3 or 4 levels by myself, whereas the remainder of the game (bar the final couple of scenes) required following the guide posted in discussions, as well as watching a youtube playthrough. If you're in to the backrooms, it'll be hit-or-miss - it has some classic backrooms inspirations, but it's nowhere near as disorienting as you'd expect, and the levels are a lot smaller than you'd imagine them being. theres an actual bit of story which for this genre isnt to common but implemented well rather dark though in terms of the subconcious are often the aspects we often look away from and as the usual liminal space being more of an explorative style the but of narrative is actually nice

want to enjoy it but its kind of a hard game!!!

I almost did not buy this game because of the quicktime event (only one of these, thank you very much) at the beginning of the game. But my love for backroom games made me buy it anyway. Glad I did. Not use to having a story line with a backrooms style game, made me even more determined to complete the game. I did have to hit up a walkthrough for one puzzle, as I missed a comment, so pay attention. I died many times, and the restart points were reasonable. Graphics were great, storyline good.
