Shogun Curse

This game is pretty. I like the aesthetic. I also like the theme. And that's about all the nice things I can say about it. Running into 100HP enemies on your 4th or 5th node isn't fun. The game does not feel well tuned. And if you're looking for something to tide you over until STS 2 comes out, this ain't it.

I picked this up today and have been really enjoying it so far! The art design is incredible and the mechanics are very fair and fun. I am loving the art for the cards and all the character designs, I would love to see more beautiful designs from your tam and I am very excited to see progress moving forward. Very fun if you enjoy slay the spire and similar games. Worth it just for the visual alone, I only had minor issues but nothing game breaking. Small things like, occasionally damage being a whole card behind or one or two instances of damage not counting at all. There was also a lack of music in some ares of the game. I hope this project gets noticed by more people!

A pretty solid adventure deckbuilder. The act structure sets it apart from a basic Slay the Spire: you can choose the order you go through the initial zones (which each have themed enemies and specific boss pools) and that's a standout to me. Both characters present have distinct playstyles; I hope there's more to come, but I'm pretty satisfied with the ones we've got so far.

This game is not balanced well and has some bugs still ex: ephemeral cards are supposed to exhaust after leaving the hand. They did not and eventually made it so I couldn't play. This game could be decent or at least somewhat good if they added the basic ease of use features like: looking what a buff or debuff does on the card, saving the run, explaining what debuff you would get after finishing a zone. Fix the ease of use and this game would at least be interesting I would also add a new ending locked behind a challenge type run, rebalance a few of the enemy mechanics and maybe either add money for rejecting cards or make card removal cheaper. The current difficulty is highly luck based. I won after 3 to 4 playthroughs due to good card luck and event luck. The art style and artifact active use is interesting but enemies with not explained effects, couldn't tell for a few of the boss fight which one was the boss, bugs and no current ease of use updates make it ok to annoying to play.

Unfortunately, I spent money on this game, and it seems that the game was abandoned by the developer. The coin rewards seem very low compared to the difficulty of the fights, where you barely get past the fights but only receive 8 gold. I like the idea of the consumable relics, but it definitely feels over-tuned. I wish there was some refinement, but sadly doesn’t seem to be in the plan.
