Silent Reel

Silent Reel is a creepy little horror puzzle game that I liked because it makes me question whether I am actually getting lost or whether the building itself is changing around me. I explore an empty cinema where familiar halls can shift every time I move through them. I found that idea surprisingly effective because it makes me suspicious of things that would normally feel completely ordinary. The main gameplay is based around observation and environmental puzzles. I have to inspect posters, seats, rooms and other details to work out what has changed and what might help me progress. I enjoyed this because the game rewards me for paying attention rather than simply searching every object until something happens. The environment itself becomes part of the puzzle. The changing layout is probably my favorite mechanic. A cinema that looks familiar can suddenly become slightly different, and those changes force me to question my own memory. I liked the way this creates tension without needing constant monsters or chase sequences. Poor design, lighting, and anomalies.

THE GAME DOES SUPPORT ENGLISH!!!! The instructions, settings, and textures all are in English, so don't believe the Steam page when it says "English not supported." That being said... this game isn't great, but for free, it's good. The game is very dark and it's hard to see anything. There are auditory anomalies, so be sure you have your volume on.
