Slam and Roll

This is a love letter to games like Parasol Stars and Bubble Bobble, which are two of my personal favourites from the bygone era of console and arcade gaming. While this game may bare a striking resemblance to the games mentioned above, it does this with its own unique style and has a more modern but keeping the "Retro" look. You can play single player or co-op in any of the humongous amount of stages on offer, 200+ if I remember correctly. Pick your character from a roster of cool dudes and dudeettes, unlock more as well by completing the levels. Gamerplay is mixture of platform jumping, dodging, shooting or hitting enemies until they turn into a ball, you then ride or smack the ball to take out other enemies. This game is so much fun and offers a challenging curve in the later levels, my review was single player only but I have since played co-op and it adds that extra special something to make an already awesome game, even more awesome. Graphics are colourful, funky and look Retro but modern, characters and enemies are well drawn, animated, very colourful and look great, sound and music is also good and suits the game. For all the snow bros fans , this game is a must! The gameplay is familiar but with an added twist , which is that you can deflect/bash the rolled up enemies around the arena like it's giant pinball machine. The retro artstyle and presentation were all well done and there is a lot of content here apart from just the arcade mode. The chaos mode was a personal favourite of mine . Tried a bit of the coop mode and it works really well . Really incredible; the sprites of the main characters are well done, and the music is cool (my favorite is the one from the bonus stage where you need to complete the level without defeating any enemies). I wish there was some kind of sound test in the game, but oh well, it's a really cool game anyway.

Slick, polished, fast! My favourite Kaleido game to date.

This game slams so hard that it gets me rolling! It's as if the developer had found a lost arcade game from 1990 and remastered it with infinite care. In fact, I wouldn't rule out the possibility that Slam & Roll comes from a timeline in which arcades have become world heritage sites.
