About Solnox - Grimoire of Seasons
You are the last force standing between the encroaching Last Season and what remains of this world. Build your perfect deck, master synergies, and fight back against the encroaching Last Season. Choose your Warden and channel their unique rune stone deck to stand against unholy creatures threatening the last remnants of the world. Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter - each season carries its own distinct power, capable of shaping the battlefield in unique ways. Use seasonal runes to manipulate terrain, boost abilities, and weaken enemies, while creating devastating synergies. But beware—the Last Season is relentless, and your foes already consumed by it wield their own devastating abilities to ensure your downfall. Adapt, strategize, and save what remains of the dying world. The land of Ecendael was once a thriving nation, safeguarded by the Wardens of Change. That was, until Morrigan the Unfading, once a Warden herself, betrayed the order and unleashed the Last Season—a plague of stagnation that drains life, warps minds, and spreads unstoppable corruption. Armed with the last remnants of seasonal magic, the surviving Wardens must reclaim their lost power and push back against the corruption that has ravaged their land. Each Warden brings a unique approach to battle, shaping the fight from the very first card played.
The Wardens are the last force standing between corruption and survival. You can choose between three of them, each tied to two unique starting decks with different playstyles. Experiment with different strategies, refine your deck as you progress, and discover powerful new synergies with each run. With every failed attempt, you’ll grow stronger, unlocking new decks and gaining access to even more potent and complex runes.

It’s a card-based roguelike (using runes instead) with fairly straightforward gameplay, so it’s quite easy to get the hang of. There are some characters to unlock, with different types and styles of runes. As the rounds progress, the seasons / the ground element changes, which adds a bit of variety, although what really stands out is how good it looks for such an affordable price. It’s not a particularly big or deep game, but it does the job and is perfect for playing alongside music or other background content. I mean it could "get" pretty cool if by the time you're T4 the merchants had weapon/armor upgrades for health pool or defense or movement bonus or damage, something, ANYTHING Geezus! ZzzZzzZZzzZzzz2 found this helpful
I honestly had a lot of fun with this one. You pick a character class with a base mobility skill and default runes (basically cards or moves) and then build out a deck of moves that fits your preferred playstyle or given character. It feels really nice getting a stacked build and using it to clear battlefields with no injury. I enjoy the graphics and character designs - and although the roguelike progression map is relatively basic, the "meat on the bones" of turn based combat is really fun when you get into it. quickly became one of my favorite turn based games1 found this helpful
At its introductory price of 5 Euros, nothing much can go wrong here. A fun and elegant little turn-based roguelite of a game. My one gripe would be how it's a little on the nose regarding its literary inspirations here and there, but OK. So far, so good.1 found this helpful
Solnox: Grimoire of Seasons takes a familiar roguelike foundation and enriches it with an imaginative seasonal magic system that gives each expedition a distinct personality. Developed and published by ByteRockers' Games, the title transports players to the troubled realm of Ecendeal, where corruption has spread across the land and only a handful of Wardens possess the power to restore balance. From the outset, the game establishes a strong fantasy atmosphere, blending tactical combat, deckbuilding, and narrative elements into an experience that rewards both careful planning and adaptability. At the center of the gameplay is a compelling mix of card-based abilities and turn-based tactical encounters on a hexagonal battlefield. Positioning carries as much weight as selecting the right rune or ability, creating encounters that demand more than simply building the strongest deck. The game's defining feature is its seasonal mechanic, which ties abilities and battlefield effects to spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Each season alters the flow of combat in meaningful ways, encouraging players to experiment with different combinations and strategies. Rather than treating the theme as a…1 found this helpful
Solnox is just one of those games that "clicks" for me. It is a "slay the spire" like game with a grid based combat system. Moving around the map and using the enemies against each other is fun. They use a similar "the farther you get in your run you unlock some new cards (runes) to play with on a later run as STS, so you can clearly see where the inspiration is here. My main complaint is the UI. Boy is it ugly. Clicking your runes can sometimes take 2 or 3 clicks because you are waiting for some animations to play out. The Runes themselves have text that spills over the cards..it just feels so amateur in that regard. If they clean up the UI and add some personality to it, I could see this visually catching on to more players. Either way - I am enjoying it quite a bit and cant wait to try out more characters.
