About Songs of Skydale

Songs of Skydale is an adventure game with hack-and-slash combat and RPG elements. The game starts with a classic adventure game opening when a player arrives at the Kingdom of Skydale with the hope of a new beginning for his life. Straight away, the player gets involved in various events and quests in the Kingdom of Skydale. As the game progress, the player faces different characters, items, enemies, dungeons and even some puzzles!

Songs of Skydale is a game by a player for players. The idea of the game is to give players a sense of adventure without too much hand-holding, so be prepared! When adventuring through the lands of Skydale, players must navigate using paper maps and information provided by the quest givers. If players enter uninhabited areas, they must be ready to fight against various enemies and survive until they can reach the next safe area.

The game offers fast-paced hack-and-slash style combat, which is strongly based on player skill. Correctly timed attacks, blocks and dodges are the keys to success. Combat is supported by skills and items designed to have very little restrictions. There are no classes in the game—players can choose skills freely from 19 different options. Players can choose to be a warrior, tank, mage, assassin or any mix of these. The skill system, combined with various items that can be found or purchased, gives players numerous options to shape the character stats to their liking.

decent game for this price. the only thing i didn't like is the amount of walking you have to do... fast travel should have been better from each point of the map (except of the dangerous parts)

The game doesn't have quite enough polish for the scale of game I feel it wants to become. I imagine you could probably get lost in some of the lore of this game, but the rest of the game feels a bit lack lustre. The battle mechanics are essentially spamming the attack button in the early runnings. There's no controller support. The visuals are a bit of a miss for me, there's clearly been a lot of work put i nto them, but I'd like to have seen a bit more. If you had a small library and this was in it, I could see it becoming an underrated gem. In the day and age where thousands of games are at my disposal though I can't justify continuing given my impressions and the general middling rating the game has received.

https://youtu.be/s5OQzi1Kkhs Clearly a lot of craft and personal touch has been put into this game, but it currently has a long way to go to feel complete.

Game with bad controls and a lack of direction. My guess is a small dev team took on too much. Hasn't been updated in over a year... likely abandoned.
