I Really Tried to Like It...
So, after giving Sonic Frontiers a second chance, I've got to say... I really tried to like it, but it gets boring faster than Sonic can run. To be honest, I didn't even make it out of the first open-world area. There was one level that I really enjoyed because it actually felt like a traditional Sonic game, but it was way too short. It was like eating a piece of chocolate—really good, but over before you know it. If anything, it just made the open world feel even emptier. I'm sure that was the intention, but it's just not my cup of tea. The controls are mostly okay. Maybe I'm still traumatized by Sonic '06', so my standards are a little weird, but Frontiers' controls felt a bit awkward at times. I also ran into a glitch during the fight with that giant enemy where you have to climb it and destroy the three pillars. That didn't exactly leave a great impression. Another thing that annoyed me was the constant cutscenes whenever a "special" enemy appeared. Why does the game need to interrupt me every single time? One of those cutscenes even got me killed because the action resumed before I was ready. It also completely kills the …1 found this helpful
unpolished but playable even tho this is a decent game for a mascot of a company that owns persona and yakuza this is pretty weak not to mention this game's environment is trying to be for everyone and not really for sonic fans
I loved the story and the open world, but if your a big fan of sonic you maybe want to pick a different game
I will say, this is a great Sanic game. From the music, down to the gameplay. The open world aesthetic makes it feel free allowing you to explore and play the game however you want. Would highly recommend to any Sonic fans that haven't played yet.
Everything is great until you get to Ouranous/Final Horizon. When you do get to Ouranous, I sure do hope you're into masochism.
I liked the story and open world of this game
