About Space Pilgrim Academy: Year 2

An unsettling encounter with a former colleague at a prison colony in the Altair sector leads Gail Pilgrim and the crew of the starship Quicksilver on an investigative mission to Union Station - otherwise known as 'The Cattle Market.' What she finds there is deeply troubling and may have serious repercussions for the future of the fledgling Galactic Union.

Back at the Pilgrim Space Academy, Maggie is beginning to feel calm and secure in her surroundings following the traumatic events of the previous year. That is, until a strange phenomenon suggests that there may be more to one of her new friends than meets the eye.

Space Pilgrim Academy: Year 2 is a continuation of the story which began with The Space Pilgrim Saga and Space Pilgrim Academy: Year 1. In this brand new space adventure, you will continue to play as both Gail Pilgrim and Margaret Dale.

Features

  • As Gail Pilgrim, take on the roles of investigator and diplomat as she attempts to uncover evidence of corruption. Revisit some familiar locations, such as Union Station and the aero-cities of Venus.

This game in the saga is worth playing. I must say I was not a fan of the tedious, mind-numbing repetition of scenes in order to get all the achievements though. Onto the next game, #3.

If you liked the narrative in Space Pilgrim Academy: Year One, you will not be disappointed here. There's plenty of good twists and callbacks to the original games' characters that keep things interesting. Some of the academic classes and exercises are entertaining here when trying for all the different options, I particularly enjoyed the combat tactic scenario that plays out in the holodeck. Another solid entry in this series, some annoying backtracking but not overstaying its welcome. Like the other chapters there's always a few lines of dialogue that make me giggle.

Space Pilgrim Academy: Year 2, developed by Pilgrim Adventures and published by GrabTheGames, is a narrative-focused adventure that continues the story of Margaret Dale and her colleagues at the Galactic Union Academy. Building on the foundation of the first game, Year 2 expands the universe with deeper storytelling, complex character interactions, and an engaging science-fiction setting. Players step back into the shoes of Margaret, now navigating her second year at the academy, as she uncovers mysteries surrounding her peers and investigates unusual occurrences within the sprawling space station environment. The game presents a dual narrative structure, allowing players to follow multiple perspectives. Margaret herself begins to suspect that one of her classmates harbors extraordinary abilities, while her friends Gail and Sabina investigate suspicious activities at a sector known as 'The Cattle Market.' This branching storyline provides variety and encourages players to consider events from different angles, enriching the overall plot. The layered storytelling ensures that each discovery feels meaningful and that player choices influence the direction of the narrative. Visually…

The classes and tests are less excruciating than year 1, but I still hate that portion of the game, I hate it so much. Plus it's just filler, I'd rather have shorter games that is straight to the point like the first 4 episodes. I'm only pushing through these last games because I wanna see how the story ends. Sad that there's so much boring filler school stuff.

The second game of the Space Pilgrim Academy improves upon its predecessor by opting for quality over quantity: including fewer Academy class based puzzles for Maggie but making them more detailed and interesting. The world-building is also deeper with exploration of the various factions in the Galactic union and their motivation. These provide better context to the over-arching plot. While the Academy map is largely the same, the inclusion of missions at new locations, for both Maggie and Gail keep the setting from feeling stale. Gail's missions flesh out the motivations of the main antagonists and the state of the Galactic union, while also making room for some well-timed comedy.
