A faithful representation of the board game, with some of the bugs (mostly pertaining to the Ventures DLC) being rapidly squashed. No multiplayer at the moment, though, strictly solo. About the game itself: it's a peaceful space exploration with 3 distinct phases (nearby space up to asteroid belt, whole Solar system, nearby stars), with each phase resetting the board and having additional mechanics. Due to this, the game is taught to you gradually, without overwhelming newer players. I highly recommend the tutorial, it teaches you the basics nicely. For those who never played the board game: this is a turn-based game of space exploration. The game flow is about moving your exploration teams to explore celestial bodies and putting various bases on them, gaining cash for that. The engine of the game is the shared deck of multi-use cards, with each card only used once - unless you add it to your several infrastructure slots, which allows their reuse. In its essence the game is a race to complete various objectives (akin to achievements) to gain more cash before your opponents can claim them; but there are multiple additional ways to get profit. [h1] A hesitant recommendation [/h1] This review is intended as an evaluation of the digital adaptation for those are already familiar with the board game. A rough-but-functional digital adaptation of the board game. The Ventures DLC expansion is basically a must-buy. To echo many other reviews, there are significant caveats to be aware of: [olist] [*]There is [b]no multiplayer in any form[/b]. No hotseat, no LAN, no nothing. It does include the solo variant (I have not played it yet), and the regular game with up to 3 CPU opponents. [*]The [b]CPU players are bad[/b]. Even on the hardest difficulty, a somewhat experienced player will utterly dominate (think a score of 100+ versus ~30-40). They will make plainly suboptimal plays (the most egregious I saw was sending all available crew Beyond when no Milestones had been claimed in the era, and when the CPU player in question had barely built anything at all. Decent adaptation. UI requires attention on your part but otherwise ok. The opponents are not too good. I love the boardgame and it's hard to find people to play it with. I have tons of fun.

Playing this over and over. I have the physical game and like them both. The strategy is deeply engaging and is a great way to pass some time.
