About Spears 'n' Spades
Spears 'n' Spades is an action platformer where you can change the weapon you attack with, each one different from the other. Explore over 8 unique stages, each with new enemies, mechanics, bosses and secrets. However, you can only get hit twice before you die.
The game has many secrets and shortcuts you can find to make your life easier. You can also find alternative paths in the levels; however, some are more dangerous than the more obvious route.
You play as the knight Isabella Rosenschwarz, who must rescue her husband from King Nick, a demonic overlord who has gathered an army of zombies and demons to stop her journey to the church he has occupied, as well as corrupt the land he now rules.

Cute game =) Is a good homage to Ghosts 'n Goblins with the distinct Edmundesque flash art style. Have completed it with just knives and I have to say that the bosses can get pretty tough when doing them no-hit. The moveset opens up there and some get hard enough to fit into I wanna games. Shout outs to Chris! Beating that guy without cheesing is really hard, though to some extent every boss has a way to deadlock you. Also I can't quite put the reason why, but this does seem like a childhood dream game.
After actually beating the game (lmao) Its not bad, just very, eh. the final boss can be killed very easily with the Mace weapon and a speed necklace and the whole game takes about an hour or two to beat. 5/10
A nice indie game. Reminds me of the old flash games I used to play on Miniclip and Andkon back in the day, except this one is quite polished, with the recognisable mid-2000s webcomic/animation art style (particularly of you frequent Newgrounds) My only gripe with this game are the controls, specifically the jump and shoot button. Normally (on an XBOX controller), jump would be the A button, and shoot would be the X button, but it's not; it's the reverse. Those who have played games using the aforementioned button mapping would be thrown off with this game, and would accidentally press the wrong button, causing some pretty dumb mistakes. Nonetheless, its a pretty solid game, and if you like a challenge, then I'd recommend Spears 'n' Spades.

Mainly bought this since it was made by LeatherIceCream, but actually ended up playing all the way through. It's a simple platformer, but the controls are tight and dying never feels unfair. I was positively surprised, I'd recommend giving this a shot if you have two hours to kill.
