About Splinters of Regret
Splinters of Regret is a student-made action game with a focus on bullet hell elements and an atmospheric aesthetic.
After committing multiple sins in life, you are forced to face them in death. A mountainous prison made of your own regrets seeks to make sure you never forget them. Make your way through the regretful hordes and hazardous terrain to find a form of peace at the top.
Splintering
With the power of Splintering, you have a second chance at "life" after the regrets overwhelm you. However, you are defenseless and must survive the onslaught to regain your control. Vulnerability is what your regrets want.
Items and Artifacts
Encounter a variety of items and artifacts to help you on your journey. Items provide one-use destruction against the regretful hordes that plague you. Artifacts are lasting equipment that gives you a source of protection and aid.
The Language of Na'en
Listen to the original language of Na'en that the inhabitants speak from across the void in their own personal regret-filled prisons. You can find our language document at this link: https://imgur.com/a/9OdVZ9d.

Really fun and looking great even while being in early access! In the future I would love to see the mouse controls switch around. Im used to moving by holding right click and I think it would just feel better if I could left click enemies to attack. I would also like to somehow have an easier time aiming my W attack, maybe spawn the portal facing towards the cursor no matter what direction your character is facing. The levels looked amazing! Loved the paper towels haha. VFX are top notch and I cannot wait to see what happens with the boss at the end. Very much looking forward to the full release of the game!2 found this helpful
Really cool game! Loved the different environments and the soundtrack. It really kept me on my toes trying to dodge all the projectiles coming at me while trying to fight back; definitely got allllll the serotonin when I finally cleared all the enemies. Worth checking out! :)1 found this helpful
Two words; boring and easy. Entering battle arena after battle arena, there were many times where I thought I should've died (Mainly due to a persistent movement bug), but it just never happened. There are a bunch of powerups to collect with no description of what any of them do, nor the need to use any of them due to an overpowered AOE melee attack. The world feels completely empty and all the story you get is "Wake up, get sword". At least the soundtrack's kinda nice.1 found this helpful
Game full of bugs, nothing to do except fighting 1 type of enemy and dashing around.1 found this helpful
Obviously a small project, but very enjoyable and immersive. No controller support, but using Steam Input options to make the left stick a mouse region around the character makes it playable on controller too.
Before I played Splinters of Regret, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
