Experienced on the Meta Quest 3
You can view my gameplay & early impressions here: https://youtu.be/0MRAvaPHkIw My initial plan was to do a full review for this game. However, as I played it I ran into several bugs. The game is in Early Access so I guess that's part of the process. Still, I would say the game is in a playable state. Just expect to run into some bugs. The good news is that this game has a lot of potential and the core of the game is solid. There's enough here that I feel comfortable giving at least a luke-warm recommendation. Buy to support development if this game looks interesting to you. The gameplay is in essence a spy adventure game. It has a little bit of combat, stealth, puzzles, and platforming. There is strategy involved, especially if you want to optimize your run. You basically control two different spies, each with different loadouts & objectives. You control time and switch between them to help each other conquer the scenario. The game actually reminds me of Hitman VR, but more on the linear side and less on the open-sandbox experimental side. Game is running on the Unreal Engine 5. On my RTX 5090, I was getting a steady 90 fps. I did exp…

Currently, in early access at a time of writing, so things might have changed since. Spymaster is a Time iteration stealth puzzle game, you play the role of multiple agents in various mission, usually infuriating and stealing something to get out. You play as one agent at a time but can rewind time so that each of your agent coordinate their actions and work in tandem. That is pretty much the gameplay loop. Overall, I think it's fun there aren't a ton of levels yet, and I do think they could be expanded to have more viable play options, but the foundation is there. I particularly like the end mission "cutscenes" which play back a sort of best of reel of your actions in the level Also for an early access game, there is a surprising amount of polish with a solid voice cast and build up of a story (but no ending) I did have some minor grabbing and throwing issues, but the niceness of the rewind is that it never messes up a run, and you can rewind to optimize it. Overall, I recommend the game even with the short play time, the price is also more than fair.

Who hasn’t dreamed of being a spy? James Bond, Ethan Hunt, Jason Bourne... there are hundreds of movies that show us just how exciting the world of espionage can be. This week, I had the chance to play Spymaster, a virtual reality title from the French studio InnerspaceVR that blends action, stealth, espionage, and even puzzle-solving in a unique and interesting way. In Spymaster, you become a member of NODE, the last spy agency left in the world. The evil corporation Protocore is controlling society through its technology and surveillance systems, and your mission is to gather intelligence and sabotage the company from within, no matter the cost. To accomplish this, you have three fellow agents at your disposal (two humans and one robot) each with their own unique abilities. Every mission takes place in a different environment, with its own mechanics and challenges, while two agents are deployed in the field carrying out tasks to ensure the operation succeeds. But how do you guarantee that such complicated missions go according to plan? That’s where you come in. You are CASSETTE, a highly advanced machine capable of modeling, simulating, and perfectly recreating every scenario.…

Really cool game! Very neat idea and neat art style, hard to explain it but once you play it it all makes sense. You're a spymaster planning out the mission for your spies, and you take control of them to execute the mission. Had some issues playing in VDXR with Virtual Desktop, but works fine in SteamVR. Some bugs in early access but once that cleans out it'll be fantastic

The idea is extremely ambitious, and the execution is great! Waiting to see where it goes after early access
