New game mechanics are brought into play on a regular basis so it does not get boring. The raising difficulty also prevents you from getting bored. You need good reactions already in level 2. The levels are large, btw, but you have infinite lives and there are a lot of checkpoints. Nice graphics and fluid animations, a story told by collectibles, works fine with gamepad (button)...if you want to play a (mobile device like) runner, this is a good one! You have been assigned to pilot the Icarus II, the last great interstellar starship and mankind's last hope to explore the galaxy. You must stop to collect the matter needed to power your ship’s star impact drive as you journey through space. Each of the planets you visit is filled with primeval creatures & deadly environments; you will have to negotiate past them with the game’s unique mechanics at play. You can only move in one direction until you hit an energy vortex & reverse; the only actions are jumping on easy difficulty, then on hard difficulty dashing is added. These are the only things you have to control while you play. It is noteworthy that you can short jump and long jump by how you hit and hold the key. You will be blasting through barrels that send you flying through the map at a furious rate, much like many of our favorite games from back in the day. Solve environmental puzzles to collect all the matter scattered throughout all the levels to compete for the high score on the leader boards (I am currently #2 :O come at me bro :p). Epic soundtrack and a joy for those who enjoy speedrunning. This is feel good platformer with collectables and unlockables in the form of cassette tapes which expand on the level music (they also offer perks to your character). It will have going back for more to hear and understand everything this game has to offer, both audible and storywise. Smooth game that plays at a great speed. Kept the challenge at a nice level for my kids and I. Was able to teach my kids about timing which is largely left out of a lot of games. Still playing it and trying to get top score. Well worth it!
Fun run plat former with a nice challenge. Reminds me of some of the more unforgiving games from my childhood. Great sound track! Would like to hear some more variety!
If you like platformers this one is really cool! I am not the best at timing my jumps but this game is making me better! There Seems to be a lot of content to unlock if I keep playing too! Recommend to classic platformer fans especially. I'll try and come back to my review once I get further, this game runs great and seems issue free for me though!
