please dont fall for the yaoi propaganda, there's way better gay visual novels out there, some are masterpieces, but NOT this one. the writing is terrible, the characters are terrible, there's no plot and they skim through topic and topic like its a speedrun. im all in to support smaller indie developers but at least make it worth your time and your dimes!

After playing hustle cats and loving it and its wholesome representation of relationships and consent, I bought this game since it was the only other one made by the same company. And I really I want to like this game, I really, really do. It has great potential, cool ideas, cool concepts of characters, except one big issue (along with many more):
THIS IS NOT STANDALONE AND IT FEELS MASSIVELY INCOMPLETE
Lemme repeat, because this store page does not indicate that:
THIS IS NOT STANDALONE AND IT FEELS MASSIVELY INCOMPLETE
Imagine buying a book, and finding out that it was just 3-4 short chapters (and leaves off unfulfilling) and to get more important information and context, you needed to read through a slog of a comic. This is what this is. There's so much missing context, information on pre-established relationships, etc. that you end up feeling like a total stranger to this game that you bought. And to get the full experience and find out important info and context you can't find out here, you NEED to read the webcomic. I almost envy the people who read the webcomic first because if I had known how bad it was, I wouldn't have gotten this. I…

LOTS of choices throughout and ending options. Great music, great art, fun dialogue, fun characters. I enjoyed this game so much!

A very fun addition for the comics! I enjoyed all the extra moments with the characters. Although Hayden's route seemed a little unnecessary in all honesty.

As much as I love the Starfighter web comic, characters, universe, and the lovely artwork of HamletMachine, I am a bit disappointed by this VN. Not due to the story or artwork, but oddly enough, the general playability of this VN is tedious, which can make your journey unraveling the story and enjoying the artwork quite annoying. It is surprisingly difficult to know when you made the wrong choice, or what choices you should make differently for a different outcome--whether you're playing blind or have a guide to follow. I enjoy playing blind, but shortly after I started, I felt that I needed one as there are an abundance of possible game overs starting Day 1, as well as diverting choices that seem to lead to the same end regardless. Because of this, S:E is not enjoyable at fundamental "navigational" level... which is a massive disservice to the story. I also experienced issues where some dialogue options flagged in guides would simply not appear for me, no matter what choices I made. A quick note on guides: they're all basically identical (save the YouTube ones) and they're not that clear. Sometimes the guides take liberties rephrasing or paraphrasing ch…
