As an independent game I enjoyed it, so I'll give it a positive review, but this honestly didn't feel like a step forward in the franchise. To start with the positives, flying felt very smooth, and the space setup felt pretty well designed, with things mostly in a deviation around a central axis like youd mostly expect a system to be. The crafting was also an engaging way to manage inventory bloat, use materials to make products to make tech parts to make gear and equipment. The system wasnt totally balanced, the first and last steps were pretty much useless (materials -> to products, and anything more than basic weapons was unrealistic to get the parts for) but it was good enough. That being said, prices were static across all regions, there was no trading economy or world interactivity. Rebel galaxy is an example on the opposite side of that spectrum to compare. Also the lack of ability to sort or filter in either the inventory or crafting screen goes very quickly from a minor annoyance to a serious one as your inventory and crafting lists grow. Was not crazy about the shift from ship class progression to the modular fighter you spend the whole main story in. I dont b…2 found this helpful
Yuck, the interface was dumbed down to fit a controller. Also the crafting sucks, both the interface and having to do fetch quests for every single sub-component's blueprint.2 found this helpful

I've played very little but the voice acting walks the line of being terrible... and hilarious lol. It's just bad enough to actually be interesting. Definitely was not expecting the game to be the way it is however seems like a game I will finish all the way through just for the comedy factor of it. I'd recommend it if you are okay with a game that isn't trying to be serious 100 percent of the time because the one liners in the game are funny when you aren't expecting it.
Good for the story, exploring marvellous stellar sceneries and great combat.
