Steam Squad - tactical wargame, where gameplay takes place at the alternative universe with steampunk details during the times of the Great War amongst colorful anime like settings as if drawn by Miyazaki himself. Game is posing a question what if? What if Tianxian Empire was able to colonize Siberia before Russia did and later had started war to extend its ownership over the rest of Europe and America?
Players acting for the 3 of the world superpowers - Britain, Tianxia and the Holy Roman Empires have teams of up to 8 units equipped with guns and machinery of the times of WWI in order to complete 30 tactical missions. For instance, you can be asked to capture an area, defend a lodgement or a person, attempt to sabotage, etc.

To succeed in the game, players must:
- Equip their teams according to the chosen strategy - select the right units, ammunition and armory for the mission;
- Read mission tactical maps;
- Lead units in the smart way and accurately - they are so easily killed and you have only few of them;

Steam Squad is a nice game and i would give it a positive review but, its so unpolished that i just cant do it. There is no camera rotation, quick save feature nor mission/campaign selection, these last two hurt a lot when there are achievements that depend on how you do a campaign, because there is no way to start second campaing withouth going through the first one all over again and the tutorial, which cant be skipped. Sadly these updates wont happen as the game is rather old and probably no longer supported by the dev team.4 found this helpful
Steam Squander. Worthless UI has no Save menu. Clumsy UI makes the movement+overwatch of each single unit a tedious exercise in near pixel perfect mouse manipulation. Lacking UI has no Undo command. Worthless UI has no workaround for the above, because no Save bloody menu. Impotent UI fails to change screen resolution. Misguided UI doesn't show what happens during enemy phases. Clunky UI has an oversized, frivolous HUD instead of clear identification and selection of toons. Did I mention that the worthless UI has no Save menu? Who plays a TBS without agency? Not me. When the game crashed during the escort mission, it was already on borrowed time. Sidenote: From the screenshots, I expected humour. My bad. Still, a complete waste of alternate History.3 found this helpful
