This is my all-time favorite game. I've played every game in the series and I keep coming back to replay this one. It has the perfect balance of simplicity for beginners, with more complex elements that you can discover and use as you gain more experience in the game for a richer experience. I love this game and I wish the other games in this series had more naval combat like this one.1 found this helpful
I wanted to love this game and I certainly found the mechanics mostly enjoyable. The biggest show stopper for me is the fact that you have to replay the tougher scenarios multiple times to juggle incoming threats and be in position with the right forces to deal with the right threats because you have fore knowledge of where they are coming and in what numbers. That's not really strategy to me, it's grinding... Oh...and the endless Japanese navy. My god. The jankiness was not an issue to me, but be warned, voice acting and dialogue is a bit suspect. Sadly with my limited gaming time these days this game is going on the backburner. Solid schmeh for me.

Great game. The campaign mode is challenging, it involves many strategic thinking how to move,what to buy, what technology to develop. Two nations units are not the same but well balanced
A little dull but I'd still recommend if you're into strategic WW2 naval stuff.
