Stronghold Conquest

I can see that the game is developed by a new and inexperienced studio, but I still enjoy the gameplay overall. Initially, I had trouble figuring out where to begin, but after rereading the tutorial on the loading screen, everything became clear. The boss fights ramp up the difficulty to the next level and challenge your defensive strategies in a demanding way. I also like how the music theme changes when bosses are approaching. I wish the developers the best of luck with their debut game.

A solid update with good quality-of-life features, but it got way harder I’ve been checking out the new Release v2 update for Stronghold Conquest. It’s not a complete overhaul that turns the game upside down, but it brings some really nice, practical features that make the gameplay smoother. The biggest plus for me is the mid-run auto-saves. It’s a simple addition, but it was desperately needed so you don’t lose your progress if you need to close the game. The new gold Bounty Carts add a bit of nice variety to your resource management, and the tower fire rate milestones make upgrading your defenses feel a lot more logical. However, the balance has shifted quite a bit, and winning a run is definitely much harder now. The buffed final boss and tighter tuning mean you really have to sweat for a victory. A bump in challenge is fine, but right now it feels slightly overtuned compared to how it used to be. Overall, it’s a good, steady update that fixes visuals and adds decent mechanics, but be ready for a noticeable spike in difficulty.
