Summer Nightmare — ~0.1h played | Achievements unlocked | Free

TL;DR — A free “school + curse + everyone dies” visual novel. Lots of bad endings (often the same vibe), predictable mystery, and a generous amount of gore. Not memorable, but hey: it’s free.
You know that kind of VN where you walk into a school, the atmosphere screams “something is wrong,” and five minutes later you’re watching people get turned into modern art? Yeah. Summer Nightmare is exactly that. The setup is simple: students, an “entity,” a mystery, and a steady descent into carnage. The game leans hard on bad endings—so hard that you might start feeling like you’re collecting variations of the same “well… everyone’s dead again” postcard. There isn’t really a shining “good ending” to chase either, more like “less bad” endings and a lot of “nope” endings. Story-wise, it’s competent but very fan-service in the narrative sense: it gives you the horror beats you expect, without surprising you. The culprit is “the one you’re not supposed to suspect”… which often means you’ll suspect them anyway. The writing does the job, but it’s not the kind of plot that will stick to your brain for…1 found this helpful
I hate giving thumbs down, and I wish there was a "mixed up feelings" button, because this is how I feel about this one. It's a nice, quick, and visually appealing VN. However the story/writing is lacking. If choices mattered more and the whole thing was polished, it could be way better

This game felt weirdly rushed and written but a very young teenager or young adult. The story was all over the place and at times I didnt even register why we were making the choices that we were as the characters. It was a mess. I didnt even try this game for the gameplay but the easy 100% but I was disappointed either way. only buy the game if you want the 100%
My first ever review, lol Horribly written, no doubt about that But yk, it had something that wasn't so bad Game gave me a stroke, but has nice gore
