"Super Neat Cat" is just a low key asset flip, the developer ripped off [url=https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/2d/characters/sunny-land-103349]Sunny Land[/url] and just pallete swapped the fox character from the asset pack, mangled it onto a basic Unity platformer engine, and then put a price tag on it to try get paid cash money for mangling other people's game assets. Since this game is essentially a gallery of stock assets rearranged and kitbashed out, at first glance it looks okay, but there's much more to a game than the appearance that other people's game assets can provide. When developers aren't capable of doing their job and creating high quality assets, it's also true they can't do any of the rest of the job of a game developer either, and it shows here. This game is fairly dated at 6 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. There's no initial download price, but the developer was charging $8 USD for this. [h1]Runs smooth on Steam Deck and Steam Machine[/h1] This is a really fun 2D platformer with retro-style pixel graphics. At time of writing the review, Super Neat Cat was prices as a ‘free’ title, but I’d be prepared to pay at least five bucks for the fun of the game. It’s simple with just jump and double-jump, but there are puzzles and really nice levels that make it fresh and fun. I really like the simplicity of the game, but the challenge of the levels.
