Cat The platforming and puzzles and platforming puzzles and puzzling platforming fill me with joy4 found this helpful
It's a puzzle platformer. But it's unlike any game I know. The depth of this game comes from the items. There are so many different items, from bombs that let you destroy the terrain (just don't get yourself blasted off), to bubble gums that turn you very bouncy at the expense of not being able to move, and so on. Each item can be activated at will, but can only be activated once, so you have to figure out when and where to use each item in the level. Many items have interactions with each other too. The game also comes with so many secrets. There are a bunch of collectibles in levels -- some in plain sight but hard to get, some completely hidden. Given that every single item is one-time use, you have to figure out which items you can spare to make a detour to the collectible while allowing you to still finish the level. And the secrets themselves have secrets! What if you struggle with the platforming element? You do still need to have some platforming skills, but there's a save/load system in the level. Alright, so having just finished the main game, I absolutely recommend this. I took 25 hours (fifteen here, and another ten in the demo) to get a completion rating of 77. So first off, I'll say that yes, this game is absolutely rich with content. The 77% rating feels wrong considering how many things I knowingly left behind to do other levels and still need to go back and get, and I absolutely plan on putting more hours into this in the future to find all the bonus things, like the remaining 21 achievements out of 32, the seven or so bonus levels, and the last 40% of items in the shop. As for the experience of playing the game, it's fantastic. This is legitimately one of the best puzzle games I've ever played, wrapped up with fantastic aesthetics and an immense amount of effort and passion put into it that is very easy to see. The core of the game being using all the power-ups in tandem to mix and match effects leads to a bunch of experimentation and a bunch of "OOOH, that's how I do that!" moments that make you feel very smart, right before stumping you with the next section. It's rare to play a game that makes me feel so smart and so dumb in a cycle over the course …
