A neat roguelike card battler, the UI is a little confusing but it's a promising twist with the Brazilian folclore theme.3 found this helpful
Um jogo viciante que cativa com sua mecânica de combate. O jogo possuí uma estética linda que retrata bem a nossa rica cultura brasileira!2 found this helpful
Needs a lot of help. Painfully slow transitions. Huge parts of the UI dedicated to things that don't matter. I think this one is aimed at young children.2 found this helpful
Got it 50% off on Fanatical. It is worth it, it does not have the replayability of a traditional rougelike deckbuilder (but the price reflects that), but the music and the Brazilian folklore makes up for it. A couple differences further help it and the cards and enemies are unique thematically and in what they do. So overall I would heartily recommend it, and hoping for more from this developer. Update: it gets stale and repetitive very quick. Less than 2 hours in and I am bored out of my skull, this game is just not good enough. It is a nice amateur effort. But the fact that everything is so samey and the tactics are boring, never felt like I could die if I use one brain cell, makes it a no-no. Update: played some more, the world is interesting as I did not know much about the Brazil folklore, but the balance and a lot of bugs I encountered at the latest stage Nightmare mode caused a lot of frustration. Overall it was a 5.5/10 for me. The real challenge starts at Nightmare 4, but due to bugs where cards no longer work as they supposed to (meaning game stutters, breaks its rules, as if the data was too much at that point, or people did not get that far and thus did not have …2 found this helpful
Tacape, developed by Really Long Birds and Aiyra, and published by PID Games and Dear Villagers, is a distinctive roguelite deck-building game that stands out through its rich integration of Brazilian folklore and culture. Set against the backdrop of vibrant myths and legends, the game invites players to embark on a challenging journey filled with tactical combat and strategic deck management. The core gameplay revolves around building and refining a personalized deck of cards, each offering unique abilities and synergies that must be leveraged to overcome a variety of foes inspired by folkloric creatures. This combination of strategy and randomness inherent in roguelite design ensures that every playthrough feels fresh and demands adaptability, keeping players engaged as they explore new tactics and card combinations. The combat system in Tacape strikes a satisfying balance between accessibility and depth. Players must carefully consider each card played, managing resources and planning several moves ahead to maximize their effectiveness against enemies. The encounters vary widely, with each folkloric adversary bringing distinct behaviors and mechanics that test the player’s stra…1 found this helpful
Game is challenging as hell, and very engaging in that regard. There are two characters here (brother and sister), each with their own story. And you can only get to the end of their stories by finishing the higher difficulties. The biggest factor in its uniqueness though is not the challenge (if that's not your thing) but the themes: the story plays out in rural Brazil, and the creatures are uniquely those of brazilian folklore, and given life with great animations. If you want a different spin on roguelike deckbuilders (away from all the generic fantasy and bland sci-fi), as well as a good challenge, you might want to give this a go.1 found this helpful
