About Chapter One
About Chapter Two
About Chapter Three
Trapped in the belly of the beast, our hero encounters a surprising band of castaways, including the long-lost (and obsessive-compulsive) explorer Coronado De Cava. Can the Mighty Pirate win the suspicious De Cava's trust? Will pirate hunter Morgan LeFlay prove to be a ruthless enemy, or an unlikely ally? Will the group find La Esponja Grande in time to save Elaine from the rampant Pox of LeChuck? And will the world be crushed by the gnashing teeth of a certain demonic skull? Tales of Monkey Island's moist and absorbing third episode, Lair of the Leviathan, will answer some of these urgent questions -- and raise still more -- as the five month adventure builds to its epic climax!

This was the one MI game I missed (mostly because after Escape the 3D graphics gave me PTSD), and... No, just no. It doesn't feel like a Monkey Island game. The controls are somehow worse than Escape and most puzzles are just not quite there. Not as in "they are too easy/hard", but as in "I randomly shoot a cannon which will somehow do an unexpected thing that solves a puzzle in another area". Somehow Guybrush and Elaine feel out of character. Heck, every character except LeChuck does. And that really killed it for me. Out of 5 chapters the 3rd one was actually fun and somehow had that kind of MI atmosphere... But the rest were just a chore to get through. It's maybe the one MI game I won't ever feel like replaying at all... Which makes it kinda special on its own?1 found this helpful
This game is rather different to many of the other monkey island games, which, along with the fact that its in 3D, leaves it to be overlooked quite often. This is a shame because this game is punches you in the gut so many times it leaves one's organs permanently damaged and still manages to be funny about it. 9/101 found this helpful
What if Tales is actually my favorite Monkey Island game? Haha jk jk... though what if it is? No way, Curse is the best, obviously, jk... but what if? Aha ha ha... unless?
very difficult.
Old and very ugly 3D, horrible UI, bad voice acting. Maybe the story was good but I'll never know.
LucasArts created an almost perfect trilogy of adventure games between The Secret of Monkey Island, LeChuck's Revenge, and The Curse of Monkey Island. And then, for some reason, they decided, let's scrap the perfectly simple, perfectly suitable, easily accessible, and ideal control scheme for ones which are awkward and annoying and just get in the way of the adventure. And that's what you have here. Again, they've tried to reinvent the wheel and just made what should be a simple and straightforward adventure game into something cumbersome and annoying. Now, I only played it for six hours, but in that time, even though there were some decent gags, its still funny in parts, it still didn't feel up to the standards of the original trilogy either. So, between the lacklustreness there, Annoying controls, I left it and I wouldn't recommend it either.
