Experienced on the Meta Quest 2
You can view my gameplay & early impressions here: https://youtu.be/y8gcfe7UkVU This is a tactical shooter. You basically hunt down terrorist. You can die quickly so you have to use strategy. You can use a hammer to knock down walls. You can climb ladders or ropes and then rappel from rooftops and crash down on windows and get inside buildings that way. You can grenades, smoke grenades, knife, and mines that you can remotely detonate in order to achieve your objective. I had fun. Game is challenging. It rewards skill & strategy. You have an AI companion that can be sometimes helpful since you can actually control his movements. Unfortunately, the enemy AI isn't always the best. They seem to run towards you whenever they are alerted. I do wish they were more tactical and get behind cover or try to flank you. Game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 3080, on high graphical settings, I was getting mostly 90 fps. You do have full locomotion, along with smooth or snap turning. You can play seated or standing. I did experience some bugs, but nothing major. Rate ?/10.
Please note: I received a free Steam key through the S…5 found this helpful
Task Force 9 is an Early Access VR tactical shooter game where you can also control AI companion. It worked on my Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Has a long tutorial. Very hard. Maybe buy, if you like tactical shooter games in VR. I got a free key for this from the Steam Curator program. Only the lobby is loaded in the game. When starting a mission, nothing loads, although is hunging a ‘Loading’ window in the lobby. Tried on two different top computers with different windows, two different VR-headsets, with different video settings. A large number of combinations in total. The game just doesn't work. Refund.2 found this helpful
I'm a run and gun person by heart so it took me a moment to adapt, This is is a great start to a game, and the dev is active in his discord and always looking for feedback. The knife feels very nice, and its nice to see a game implement some unique aspects. Repelling into other windows is quite fun. Aspects feel like Assassins creed with guns.2 found this helpful
I really enjoyed this one. The weapon interactions are fun, and headshots are easy to get (and satisfying). I found the claymores to be very entertaining. They kept getting me and they made me really pay attention to where I was walking (which made the game feel more immersive). Also, having a teammate that you could direct was cool.1 found this helpful
Very rough around the edges, but has a solid foundation. Gameplay is fun, although there is a distinct lack of accessibility and customization options (ie: can't tune rig placements, guns should have the option of going back to their holsters after letting go, adjust speed, etc) However what made me refund is how the view was done, as it can be very nauseating to look around. Hard to explain, it looks like the environment shifts around you as you look around. Excited to see what comes of this game, as I'll keep an eye on it. Also, I couldn't find it, but if there isn't, I feel a command to have the AI follow you would be great.
